A lot of people moved to platforms like twitter and reddit. Posting here required subscription, and only recently people started coming back, since its now free.

Heh, CCP still makes it so it would hurt, like in life. Fairly unpopular choice. In popular games you just hop in and can respawn on a nearby res. No death penalties, easy mode, PvP only consensual, fun and sunshine. EVE still can have sunshine and fun, but is a cruel game with "real" consequences, the old school way when MMOS were a lot more primitive and brutal. It is a powerful incentive when you are actually punished for a lot of things you can do, all mistakes punished without remorse. And all those people crabbing and mining in Rorqs because they want to PvP in capitals, because capitals are not squishy as much as subcapitals. They want to have the safest way into the victory.

But there are also those crazy moments, when sitting in a high sec on a gate to low sec in a corvette can yield an unexpected results, when someone jumps in and is Concordokened in a tech3 cruiser, because he attacked your Ibis, thinking its still low sec. Then its fun, there is sunshine lighting up the blue wreck and candies inside for you to grab. 😎👌
