Race change on the EVE universe.

Hey all,

Lets say one of my alts wanted to change his racial physical characteristics from A racial characteristic to B racial characteristic.

RP lore wise would that be possible within the EVE universe?

I mean the way I think about it, it would be more than doable and justifiable but I figured asking the community in order to avoid any mistakes and whatnot.

I know that for some AURs one can pay for some facial changes and whatnot but i am talking of changing from race A to B. lets also suppose that the character would be half blooded between A and B.

Yep, completely within the lore. In one of the books Tibus Heth (the Caldari Prime Minister for a while) has his infiltrators be completely genetically changed to look like they were of Gallentean lineage in order to make them extremely effective terrorists.

And in the same books, we have people at body modification conventions showing off their animalistic skin patterns and all sorts of crazy stuff! There is certainly more available in the game other than our body sculpting.

Not sure why this hasn't become an AUR item yet. Names included. People have been playing this game for a very long time, some of whom didn't appreciate the lore until later stages. Some who made characters when race really influenced your attributes.

Exactly! It would add a nice feature I guess as well.

Opposition to the name change thing is always defended with "your actions need to have consequences", but since almost everyone has a crapton of alts, that point has for a long, long time been moot in my books. There has been plenty of ideas thrown about it to appease the naysayers like an alias list and limit to max. once a year or even just once per character, but it has never flown.

As for the aesthetic part, it's because WIS got canned. To my understanding EVERYTHING we occasionally get to the New Eden Store is stuff that has been completed since 2011 that they recolor/retexture (particularly event related clothes) and trickle in very slowly. There was supposed to be a lot more distinction between different races and bloodlines, that was the original plan at least. There's probably a lot of Incarna concept art still floating around if you wish to google it - though I don't recommend it, because you'll just curse out all the wasted potential.

Interesting, especially that it's canonised. It would have to a an omega only thing obviously.
