I wouldn't mind if they took a lore story or a Chronicle and made a movie but don't let any player lore in there lol

They started screening but the doors were stuck and nobody was able to open it, everyone in the room died from lack of hygiene and hunger. They were not able to escape because they had limited funds that did not allow them to place a working spaceship in the hangar.

The End.

Making a movie/TV show based on a video game has traditionally been the milieu of stupidly rich people that like to throw away their money.

Has there ever been a successful film adaptation of a video game franchise? Not that I can recall.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "successful." I'd say the "Resident Evil" movies have been pretty profitable. And they're not too shabby, for what they are.

I'd love to see a TV/film about the Minmatar Rebellion. Hell, there's plenty of the Lore that would be absolutely brilliant to see, especially considering the trash that is put out on tv/film recently.

This was asked at the IP roundtable at Fanfest.

CCP said that things are still happening, but they are happening slowly. They said that right now there are no significant developments to announce, and so they've not announced anything.

They said to give people some sense of how long these things can take, the show 'Man in High Castle' was in development for years, with different production teams, etc., before it finally made it on screen.

They added that one of the greatest challenges for projects like this is communicating the various nuances of New Eden, and what it means to be a capsuleer, to people who have no working knowledge of EVE Online.

A good example is the concept of consequence. They said that a common theme they come up against is the finality of death for a character. In New Eden this is completely meaningless to the immortal posthuman infomorphs that are the Capsuleers. It was something the production team behind the Kyonoke LARP event at Fanfest had to work past and adapt to.

I'm happy to wait a little longer for an announcement, and the show itself when it arrives, if the finished product is true to New Eden and what EVE Online is.
