I got the local times messed, I thought US west coast was -7 hours thus you were waking up at 12:00. Lol

Worse, I'm on the east coast and actually woke up abut 1230, but I didn't sleep much Friday night. Got violently ill.

Sending hugs and chicken soup! Smile

Welcome back, Pix!

And thank you for the get well wishes; I'm actually fine. Was just a very unpleasant few hours, probably something I ate. I also was a bit tired and unfocused when I tried to install a new Linux distro to dual-boot alongside Win10, so I wound up nuking my Win10 drive. I'd planned on making the total switch at some point, but...well, I guess this is just ahead of schedule. Currently running Manjaro, which is based off of Arch, with KDE's Plasma 5 desktop. Thanks to CCP Snorlax's Linux launcher, EVE was no problem whatsoever to get working. Blizzard games and the Battle.net launcher were another story, but that's all settled too.

I don't think I'll miss Win10 much, having to constantly rip out stupid things like Cortana that keep reinstalling themselves and having to watch for the "Compatibility" telemetry starting up for unknown reasons, even though I've made it perfectly clear that I don't accept any form of telemetry. When your OS is installing and running malware (defined as unwanted programs that waste your system resources and possibly datamine), time to switch. **** off, Micro$oft.

I'm glad you're doing well. I personally consider Win10 itself as malware at this point. I am sticking with Win7 until there is a solid reason for me to change OS, and there are none at the moment, thankfully.

I've been a Windows Insider for a pretty long time, tested both 8 and 10 preview builds looooooooooooong before they hit the market. It's really a shame that Microsoft seems to be losing direction. 8 and 10 are actually a significant improvement under-the-hood in terms of performance, especially if you aren't graced with the newest hardware. But the UI design went off a cliff. I realize there's a fine line to walk here, between innovation and not fixing what isn't broken, but generally when you're talking UI, you keep things the same, unless there's a really compelling reason to change, because people are used to using them.

All of the design changes that are for mobile can eat a bag of dicks, especially if I don't have the option to turn them off. You cannot make a UI that works well for both mouse and keyboard AND touchscreen. Not going to happen. You make it **** for both, or you heavily sacrifice one for the other; in this case, desktop users gets screwed to make a decent touchscreen UI, and honestly, the Surface and Windows Phone are actually pretty decent, their real problem being lack of developers willing to trust Microsoft enough to make apps. Totally understandable, given Microsoft's history, and even their current UWP bullshit. I just can't support the company or any of the decisions they make anymore.

Gaming on Linux has gotten a whole lot less annoying the past few years.

Oh no, its too big! I would not find myself in such city at all. I like small, old architecture, slightly rural cities like this one. This would be my palace. Freshly maried people take pictures of themselves, with this palace as the background. 👍

Having a 286 likes to enjoy, like some magic number, it ties to what Kaae wrote about Windows, in some sense. I found Windows 286. From times when Microsoft was providing an operating system and tools, without wanting to steal all your informations. 👍

Thank you Pix. 😎👌

I like Windows 10. It works, it's hassle free and barely makes itself noticed. That's all I want from a computer after 25 years using them: make what I want and don't waste my time breaking down.

Admittedly running Windows XP on an old computer left permanent scars on my perception of computers. Evil
