I dont plan on doing any trading/merching boring spreadsheet garbage, all I want to do is attack other players and plunder their loot and fittings. Will I be able to do that as a purely [F2P] Alpha Clone character?

Yes. However, due to skill limitations you might find it easier to do so with friends. I recommend finding a corp, even an Alpha is a valuable asset in tackle or EWAR.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

What about frigates and mining vessels, looting ships, etc how I was thinking was that since you need to fit your ship with mining equipment/ exploration stuff that leaves little room for weapons, arent those the easier targets to kill solo?

Kinda like in AC4: Black Flag, the bigger ships always had the better goods on it but since it needed all the room to carry those goods they had little to no firepower to defend themselves.

Do yourself a favor and don't think of eve in terms of other games, comparisons fail miserably.

Solo in eve will leave you disappointed; find and join a corp.

Love the enthusiasm,
I recommend you go shoot some pirates in the face.

When be they inevitably beat the living snot out of you that's generally the best time to turn on that newbro charm,
show you can take a slap or too with a good attitude and you're going to make friends quickly.

Find people who are fun to fly with, learn from them, trust me it'll be a world of difference.

Kinda dont like how everyone is saying find players to team up with, in general id prefer to be solo pirating but from all the feedback so far it seems like the only way people play this game is by teaming up with each other and ganking single targets which I guess has some fun to it but doesnt give the satisfaction of raiding alone kinda how a player would KS in league of legends.

Teaming in general just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, like if im gonna raid id prefer to do it alone and with my own ships firepower, so if i do choose to keep playing as a f2p alpha clone pirate will my time as one be wasted? Or should i look for another open pk game?

No one can really say.

Yes, it's possible to be a successful solo-pirate on an alpha. Anything's possible.

No, it wouldn't be easy, and whether or not your time would be wasted, well people can't say. Only you can value your own time. Solo-anything in EVE is possible, but the learning curve is going to be much, much steeper especially when skill-limited too. If you're having fun on the way though then your time's not wasted. Playing an Alpha is free and lowsec ain't that far away. Go throw yourself in and see if you enjoy what you find. Initially you will find it hard and more often than not come across groups than other soloists, but if you enjoy the journey then your time's not wasted.

Eve is a monthly subscription game. The alpha clone thing is more of a unlimited trial than it is an actual F2P. Also as has been pointed out Eve favors group efforts over solo.

However that being said there are people who have great success solo. It just almost never happens without lots of experience and in Eve experience means lost ships.

Here is a link that I link often:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de1hwoFYA_k&t=156s

It is a video of a very experienced player on a very low skill point alt. This gives you an idea of what is possible. However keep in mind that what he is doing is only possible with a very in depth understanding of the game. It takes not only know how to fight but knowing when to fight and also a metric ass ton of situational awareness.

But if you are willing to take enough punches to the face and keep getting back up for more then eventually you could be as good or better than the likes of suitonia.

So what is possible and what is fun for you might be one in the same or they might be very different. Eve is a sandbox and a true MMO. It has as many different "right ways" to play it as it has people playing it. I'm not really sure how to advise if it will fit your playstyle or not.

If you can let go of expectations taught to you by other games you will have a much better chance of enjoying Eve. Hope this post helps. Regardless have fun and welcome to Eve.

Reason being, eve is big, lots to know.

Two days with a switched on player can be worth nearly two weeks of solo trial and error.
You can go do your solo thing, believe me you can,
you can punch well above your weight if you know how.

Our point is , that know how will be considerably easier to come by with an established groupBlink

You can solo if you're real careful about picking targets.

You can definitely do that as an Alpha player.
It will be (very) hard, but it is doable.

And unfortunately, you won't be able to completely escape from the spreadsheets (or basic math and economic understanding at the very least).

PvP and economics go hand in hand here.

note: most "good" PvPers dabble in industry or trading to fund their activities.

Okay... so... the reason that people tell you to team up with others is because, for the time being, you don't know anything.

You probably do not know all of the ships.
You probably do not know how to properly fit ships.
You probably do not know how to guesstimate a ship fit based on the ship type, the visual movements, what weapons it uses.

You probably do not know the mechanics.
You probably do not know how to manipulate the mechanics.
You probably do not know how to formulate tactics and ship fits to manipulate the mechanics.

As a relative newbie in EVE... you are learning.
And it is much easier and cheaper to learn with/from others than it is to research and experiment on your own without context for any of the information you are absorbing.

Once you learn the "tricks of the trade" you can set out on your own and cause mayhem as you please. Pirate

Do note that this is all strictly my opinion. >_>

Also... drop the comparisons with other games.
EVE is less League of Legends and more Starcraft in the sense that it is more about tactics and using the correct equipment, in the right ways, at the right times.
And even then... Starcraft is not a good comparison as the "terrain," equipment, and gameplay is very different.

Eve is a "slow" game. You can't rush anything. And you can't expect players here to behave like those in contemporary games.
If you do so as a newbie, you will be backhanded by veterans using their greater experience and resources. if you do so as a veteran, you will be chewed apart by rookies in "basic equipment" that have planned out their attack.

And do understand that while YOU want a "fight fair," your opponent may not feel the same and won't limit themselves to such e-bushido.

Whatever is available to you here, is available to everyone else... and vice versa.

Based on your responses thus far... I am leaning towards (and I don't say this often) "find another game."

This is nothing to feel bad about.

EVE is not for everyone.

It is primarily a game about interaction between players, playstyles, mentalities, and economies... for better and worse.
(see also: EVE is all about PvP in a "grand" sense... not just one)

This is not a "strap yerself inta a ship an spam dat **** until yer skills improve!" kind of game.

If you do not like to team up with others, sure. You can do that.
Simply understand that the two other guys over there that teamed up... they are going to have more "power" than you. After all, from a mechanical perspective they are "solo players" that just happen to be working towards the same goal.

Actually, I have four alpha accounts and I'm quite enjoying the challenge of playing under their respective single race disciplines. Brings a whole new perspective to the game, although I agree that it's not exactly a trial.

(As a side bonus it also gives me a whole game experience, which has been lacking from my omega account since I was forced against my will into using the useless bug-ridden launcher instead of the exefile.)

Despite what most of the others have said, you can indeed play this game solo and you don't have to join a player made corporation if you don't want to.

I suggest doing some Google Research and check out info guides pertaining to solo pirating in Eve. Some of the content may be a bit dated but I'm sure most of the info will still be viable. If all you really want to do is small scale solo PvP action, you might want to consider doing Faction Warfare content in Eve.

I think the first aspect for beginner pirates is mission invasion and exploration site invasion doing Ninja Salvaging. Google it. That will allow you to make some ISK and give you time to continuing gathering information for a pirating career while training up the appropriate skills.

If you plan on Suicide Ganking Industrial ships in High Sec space then you'll need to have another player with you to collect the loot since your ship will be destroyed by Concord NPC's, whether you successfully gank the Industrial ship or not.

In my opinion a true Pirate roams low security looking for loot filled ships to attack and carefully selects his targets with the intention of surviving. Suicide Ganking in High Sec is like modern day Terrorists, they have no intention of surviving the attack.

Anyway, good luck to you.

That's how I started in my early days, was very educational, great fun ang good ISK.

And while you google already, look up "Mission Baiting" too. Once you know what you are doing (and if your target does not, but HS missioners often don't), you can start getting awesome cruiser and battlecruiser kills in tiny Alpha frigates.

I play both, Alpha and Omega Accounts. You can go solo Pirate with an Alpha Account, BUT you have to plan ahead, be tricky, gather lots of information and sometimes you have to run away. But you can hunt Explorers and Haulers for example, just be patient.

I scan other players a lot and found a Venture full of wormhole gas in High-Sec. Followed it to a station, saw it undock empty again and scouted for the wormhole it went back to. Jumped in and got the empty Venture on the other side of the wh, probably scanning for new gas sites. Quite some scouting for an empty mining ship. My omega account can use cloaks and I would have waited cloaked until the venture is full of gas. Or just roam wormholes because the engagement profile of my alpha account is more or less limited to “day tripper/solo wormhole explorer” while a gang or larger ships could take on the regular residents.

Omega and/or groups can be much more YOLO, them ur us.. you get the point..

I'm currently training a character to be my solo in the deepest, dankest, most manure smelling piece of real estate in eve...low sec, oh that alphabet character will have so many misadventures in low sec.
