I have one remark about Dscan i think is important:

Any range or angle slider change have the same sound and green light effect as SCAN button does. So in the intuitive way player can assume that with any of the slider change DSCAN also automatically does the scan. But it doesnt. The sound and green light effect symbolizes scan is running. But its not. It is not logical.

The old d-scan window

V doesn't open it or refresh scans
Filters don't work at all in the old d-scan window but they work in the new window only

short term fix/changes seeing as you will only focus on the new window

Allow same key to open the new window and refresh the scan
remove the scan sound

New probe scan:

1) The most frequently used button (Solar System Map) is the smallest one. Wtf? Please make it larger and move it to the left of ANALYZE button.

2) There was nothing wrong with changing probe size by dragging them with only left mouse button. Now I have to hold alt button to do this. I think it's not an improvement.

3) Highlighted bookmarks and other stuff are annoying cause they are sometimes layered over the cube. And they are not really needed when scanning. My suggestion is to highlight bookmarks only when no cube is present (i.e. if map opened from d-scan).

4) Sometimes when I'm trying to move the cube, I accidentally left click the signature and very nice and useless popup menu appears. My suggestion is to remove signature menu on left click at all. Cause you can open almost the same menu using right click.

NO, Just NO.
Many people use the radial menu. You can disable it or change key, or set bigger delay for activation.

Worst patch update ever CCP. Very bugged and It messes with a big part of the game. This is making the game unplayable.

Since the update went online I'm having from 2 to 5 secs or more lag when undocking, d-scanning, jumping through gates, hacking, opening the map and checking the market.

I tested the connection with the launcher network diagnostics and the basic test gives from 36 to 40 ms average, it's been more than a month since I started playing and never experienced lag before.

NO, Just NO.
Many people use the radial menu. You can disable it or change key, or set bigger delay for activation.

Well, I use radial menu sometimes myself, but not in scanning window... So I won't disable it in settings. And in scanning window why would you actually use it? It provides only ignore/ignore other signature options...
Anyway, I think clicking the cube should have higher priority than opening radial menu.

My client wont even Start up since 119.3 patch, it goes to the loading screen on startup then just sits there >_>

I haven't been able to play for the past few days because of it. I figured okay, ima reinstall eve... Didn't work. restarted my pc a lot, didn't work...... Now I want to know what the heck is going on cuz I just spent a lot of money on eve recently ._.

Wait, what? Oh FFS, changing range/direction is supposed to automatically re-scan. If I make a change I want to see the results immediately, don't make me hit the button again just to do the obvious.

One issue I haven't seen yet:

before the patch I could do this:

ACTIONS:
- Select something on the overview.
- press the dscan button.
RESULT:
- Camera orients towards the selected object and starts dscan.

AFTER PATCH:
This no longer works if I have a d-scan keyboard shortcut that is not the default (v).
My friends tried this with V and it works, I have it on spacebar and it doesn't.

plz fix?

Following this post is a list of general usability issues and bugs sourced from /r/eve for the probe+dscan system. I have attempted to reproduce as many issues/bugs as possible and grouped duplicates together for the Usability issues. So hopefully this as concise and valid as possible.

  • [Usability] Probe window filters are not sorted alphabetically, they are sorted by date of creation. Alphabetically would make it much easier to find the right one.
  • [Usability] When clicking AU/KM button the minimum text-field size is not constant, resulting in the button jumping away every time you switch distance type.
  • [Bug] Switching between AU/KM results in an *inaccurate* data conversion. E.g. going from 500.000.000 km to AU results in 3.3 AU, going back to km again results in: 493.672.973 km.
  • [Bug] Using the scroll wheel to increase the dscan range from 0->1 AU results in an instant dscan which makes it impossible to change the range. This means you are always stuck with 1 AU or less using the scroll wheel.
  • [Bug] If you tick ON "Align with Camera" and move your camera after it has aligned, ticking OFF "Align with Camera" followed by ON "Align with Camera" does not align your camera again. I.e. the game only registers that you are not aligned with the camera while "Align with Camera" is ticked OFF and thus does not attempt to align you again when you tick OFF/ON.

  • [Bug] The camera doesn't move with your ship on the map as you warp, so when you focus on your current location the "align with camera" option is turned off yet again. /u/dafishlives

  • [Bug] Part of the transparency bug: If the probe or d-scan windows are docked to the map you can't interact with any portion of the map below them. http://imgur.com/zoZAiJh /u/KodiakRS
  • [Usability] A toggle that allows us to bring back dragging the edge of the bubble to resize the set. People that find it annoying can leave it switched off, people that use it in the current scanner can keep doing what they are used to. /u/P1lot1

    Pressing the F9 to open the new solar system window produces a constant buzzing noise till the window is closed again.

    Yeah, the Solar System Map now has an annoying background ambient noise (similar to the one heard in Tactical View). Like the new D-Scan noise, it is grating if you have a bassy headphone or subwoofer.

    Please consider letting us volume control almost every individual sound in the game, like the Windows 7+ Volume Mixer, where you can volume control individual programs (Credit also goes to /u/AngryRedGummyBear for this idea).

    See my mockup below - in Advanced Sound Control, there'd be a new button (a {custom} or dropdown arrow), which opens up more options. {play} buttons would be there to preview each sound:

    --> Directional Scan: Scan Initiated    [-----slider----] {play}
    --> Notification: Killmail Received     [-----slider----] {play}
    --> Probe Scanner: Cube Dragging        [-----slider----] {play}

    This ^^ I've been asking this for a while. So many ambient noises that arent bound to a slider so you can't minimize their impact on the experience in the client or they're bound to a generic slider that controls half of the UI sounds.

    Yeah my philosophy can basically be boiled down to "If we can't agree, let us tweak the fine details." Individual sound controls would be much better; I don't want to disable all UI Interaction sounds just to get rid of the D-Scan and System Map noises. I LIKE the other noises.
