I love this but noticed low fps and a lot of jank when I use it now with 6 clients.

My setup is 3x4K monitors running at 3840x2160. If I leave them running the main active one I see around 50-60FPS and the other two monitors at 30FPS. When I launch EOP I see the FPS drop to about 30FPS on the active one and around 17FPS on the other two.

Not sure if there's a setting or something I can do to tune this so it doesn't cause the FPS to drop so much.

Try to update GPU drivers and/or lower some graphic settings

Thanks for the reply.

I tried it, reduced all settings to lowest and updated all drivers. No luck.

I tried isboxer and I can run all clients at 60fps without any issues.

Could you make a screenshot of 'a lot of jank' and drop it to the in-game mail, along with the Windows varsion and GPU you use?

I think ISBoxer uses different technology to manage preview windows so that's the difference

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the excellent work you have done with this app, it really has become better than isboxer imo. The only requests I could make is allowing larger preview windows(the default max size is imo too small for 2560x1440 and especially 4k, this can be changed in the json but not everyone will be interested in diving into those settings immediately) and a customizable background color for when the preview window creates a border bar inside the preview window, eg if I could change it to black it would match my desktop background and then blend in even with the wonky resolutions I use. FWIW those are quite nitpicky requests which really shows just how well you have done Big smile

Again, thanks so much!

PS. If you have two or more clients that you never use at the same time you can apply the same hotkey to all of them and it works as you would hope: whichever window is open comes to foreground and there are no errors etc from the others not existing at that time.

Initially I set the restrictions to be like 640 x 400 px to make sure no one tries to make the preview windows as large as their screen (not sure how this would it the performance). Luckily ;-) HighDPI monitors are still rare these days. However I'll uplift the default restrictions to somewhat like 1280 x 800 so they will be still usable by default on HighDPI but won't hurt that much performance of good old FullHD.

Also may I ask you: does the main (and only) EOP opions dialog scale properly on HighDPI screen?

Could you describe this more detailed (preferably with a picture)?

It is even possible to have both these clients with the same hotkey running at the same time. Still the hotkey will be applied to one and only one of them, ie it won't be possible to cycle between the clients. Also the key pressed won't be passed to the EVE client.

Thank you! Yes it looks fine to me.

The bottom of the preview window has a white bar, which is a result of the weird resolutions I am using, in this case I have a 2560x1440 screen separated into a 3x3 grid for up to 9 previews on that screen...2560x1440 / 3 = 853.3(repeating decimal)x480 :/

I wouldn't waste much time if any on changing this if I were you, I was able to remove it by typing in a custom resolution of 853x480 for the preview window size.

Great tool, but I'd like to have hardcap of preview size (640 x 400 px) removed. :)

I have an issue where when I launch certain clients they don't open up at the right resolution (even though the correct resolution is set in game) and this means I can't interact with them properly either. It's the actual window itself that has issues, not the preview windows.

Screenshot: http://puu.sh/swOtA/92a2c86ce4.jpg

And here's my configs set: http://puu.sh/swOuQ/05dbb54846.png

This only happens with one of my clients and it's the same one every time... They are all using the same settings profile while I'm testing so I don't know how this could happen.

EDIT: Wanted to add that the client that's ******* up only opens with the ****** up resolution when EVE-O Preview is running.

No clue why this error arrives but i can tell you how to fix:

Open in the directory where you have EvE-O the file "Preview.json" with a program like Notepad++, in this file you have the definitions of window position and size (ClientLayout) and all the other crap, but you will see then the client who is opening in the wrong size and **** up then is not correct, so change the sizes for this one to the normal value like:

"ClientLayout": {
    "EVE - Char 1": {
      "X": 0,
      "Y": 0,
      "Width": 1920,
      "Height": 1080
    },
    "EVE - Char 2": {
      "X": 0,
      "Y": 0,
      "Width": 1920,
      "Height": 1080
    },
    "EVE - Char 3": {
      "X": 0,
      "Y": 0,
      "Width": 1920,
      "Height": 1080
    },
}

Should fix your issue.

Could you please drop me the configuration file for EOP (the .json file next to the .exe file)? Also could you try to uncheck the 'Track client locations' option to see if it makes any difference?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for this first off!

Super simple to use.

I run it from my Desktop and have noticed something (maybe I missed a setting)

Currently only running 2 eve clients (both in full screen windowless border). Randomly on the 2nd account I started the preview goes away, it doesn't come back until I alt tab back to 1st client, then it works. Eventually it does disappear again, I don't know if its caused by me alt tabbing out to my 2nd monitor or not.

UPDATE:

I noticed the small preview window went away when I click back into game from my browser on my 2nd monitor. Comes back as usual if I alt tab to my main account again

Hello

Just in case - do you have the 'Previews always on top' option enabled? If not this might cause the similar looking behavior when previews fail behind other windows and aren't vsible.

I do, however I think the issue just happens when the small preview window is over the game client. When I put it off to the side on my 2nd monitor it works just fine. So I'm happy doing that

Cool to see this stuff is still alive.

So, which one is the "main" repo these days? I pushed Makari around abit until we settled on using the one on github : ulph/eve-o-preview

I'm having an issue getting the keybinds to work. I followed the example in the readme, but I'm not sure if I've set it up correctly.

It's alive and evolving. There's a couple of major features to be published in Q1 2017 (once I settle up some RL stuff/issues)

Repo is https://github.com/Phrynohyas/eve-o-preview
