I have one issue that I would like to see disappear:

I undock in Jita with the assets window open.

I rightclick a stargate and choose "Warp to within ..." OH where did the right click menu go
Oh I'll just open it again, I right click the stargate again ... I choose "Warp to within ..." and the menu disappears again.

It seems having the assets window open causes the assets to be updated frequently (especially seen in Jita).
Whenever the assets are being updated any right-click menu you have open is closed.

If you have to look up some sub-menu item in a right-click menu, it's my experience that it's impossible to do with the assets window open. Closing the assets window, the right click menu start working again...

CCP Masheen, here's a quick one:

when you file a petition, your whole client freezes, sometimes for like 5 seconds.
any optimisation there would be greatly welcome.

Station vaults and similar locked container should be unlocked by default not the other way around.
As it is now it takes literally minutes to unlock all the crap inside if you happen to accidentally fill it without adjusting the settings first.
Same goes for packaging large amounts of stuff say 500 000 m3 or moving those from a corp hangar.

Corporate Hangar arrays should have the ability to be named (right klick -> set name)and it should be possible to have different names on each cabin of the arrays (eg hangar1 has toon1-6 names, hangar 2 has toon7-12 names)
and of course the rights should be able to set independent on each one. (not limmited to the umber provided on stations).
They should work indepentent from the station ones.

Pls, as said before, improve the sluggish performance of the client when brackets are shown in large fleets.

There are so many issues which result from sluggish computers, inefficient UI and graphics code, and spotty network connections - some of the more critical have already been posted in this thread, but there are many more which are irritating, but, not necessarily game breaking.

Unfortunately, game devs tend to have pretty decent computers on their desks, with the best high-end graphics cards, tons of memory, and a gigabit LAN connection to the server, so even crappy and laggy code tends to run rather well. Not ideal for testing these sorts of problems.

So, as a more general suggestion, I'd recommend that your team go pick up a few older computers, with marginal graphics cards and minimum memory, and log on to the Eve server via a dial-up connection. Play the game for a couple of hours, and video record the screen for later review & discussion by your team and the other dev teams. Note that FRAPS and other screen capture software won't work, under these conditions - use a camcorder.

This will give you a far better idea of where things tend to hang up - when everything is running under sub-optiimal conditions - and where it might make sense to tweak the code and/or put in some sort of "in progress" indicator.

Possibly not for this team but ....

When looking at Bill of Materials for a BPO/BPC add the ability to show materials needed to build x of the items .... forever getting the calculator out to work out what I need to transport to the building location.

Also echoing the comments about S&I clickfest when doing multiple inventions etc especially from a station queueing to a POS

If I was given the task of improving client performance, I would be also looking to gain visibility into specific clients, so I would put out a request for all those ppl willing to have an agent placed on their machine. This agent would send back RAM,CPU and IO information to a central server (omitting all personal information) with those people also being guinea-pigs (beta testers) for improved client code.
That information coupled with the agents placed on the QA teams clients will give excellent client visibility.

And yes, I do know how to make this happen

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

Hehe, that's good one. However, I wouldn't say no to wireframe mode. (...and I've just felt as if millions of graphics artists voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced...)

Please improve Gate Jumping times.

Atm Jumping a Gate on my EVE client feels like I unrar a 10GB file while defragmenting my drive. I have no idea what the eve client does during gate jumps, but it feels really slughish.

Maybe you could also replace the gate jumping by some neat animation, that makes u feel like u r actually traveling through far away space?

So many realy good ideas here. I hope some of them will be introduced ingame soon
And there are my additional ones:

1. Let me sort chat lists (including local) by standings, so i dont have to scroll like mad up and down before undocking in Jita, or in more populated systems, every time when local goes +1...

2. Let me sort items by meta level, not only by name or type. Or even better, for T1 items add small triangle in the corner of item's icon, like its for faction and T2 stuff, saying, which meta level item is this, so i dont have to remember all those different meta names. Would make looting, selling, reprocessing items so much easier Smile

3. For onboard scanner, add slider for range, you can keep input window, in case someone realy wants to check whats i.e. 231457km arround, but for most tasks, slider with 1AU step would be fully sufficient

I'm sure this has been said but...

If you fix one thing in the client, it should be the huge disparity between your actual cursor position vs where the client responds. To demonstrate this, click and drag an item around the screen. Why does the item picture seem to"lag" so far behind your cursor?

If my internet drops and the client closes as a result of this, give me a notification. Also give me a choice of whether or not to re-launch the client automatically when this happens.

There shouldn't really be a limit on the number of kill rights the character sheet can display and it shouldn't crap out if you've got too many kill rights. CCP shouldn't put a limit on it at all and make sure you can still view the info.

The ability to sort your kill rights into expiration date, or alphabetical order would be useful as well, at the moment they are just displayed at what I assume is a random order, they certainly aren't sorted by any logical concept I can recognise.

This is an good adition... it seams that the devs was already working on it.... and also in reducing the size of the names so you could see 3 times more in a window....This would be perfect for local... although i would like the normal chat to keep with the nice icons...
