It started as a lol.

It is getting very old quite fast.

It is now out of control.

Undocks fresh Iteron hull from station. No haul has been done, no scanning of my cargo. Was insta ganked. Ganker had no way to know that i had cargo, he suicide ganked a t1 hauler that could very well be completely empty but he was just lucky and he will keep doing this. There is many many people devoted to this play style. They are putting a halt to the empire operations and trade. They are ultimately killing the game.

So...

Ive quit.

Thanks for 13 years.

Good luck to all the F2P players!

Entire corps and alliances dedicated to empire ganking. They no longer target high value cargo transporters but all high value ships, cargo or no cargo. This is griefing and while it was on a medium to low level threat before it is now a cancer that hangs on pretty much every single 0.5/0.6 gate and **** all day long.

Games is generally a waste of time. Eve Online is not any different.

So you're leaving the game for such reason. What? It's up to you, but there are thousands of players who avoid gankers daily by using the available tools like insta bookmarks, scouting, tanking, local, D-scan etc... If you actually play the game, it's nearly impossible to die in Highsec.

http://evedarklord.blogspot.com/2014/07/counter-ganking.html

According to your kill board, you were ganked by a Tornado in Amarr, which is obviously one of the most populated systems in Highsec. Many people have insta undock/dock bookmarks there, did you have it? Roll

Here's a guide for creating them:
Insta undock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkBa57JL3Nc
Insta dock: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1BpgXiqNb0

edit: you seem to be a 2003 player. so I expect you to know these already! Blink

Be the change you want to see in Highsec.

You undocked a capacity fit hauler with a god damned command ship in it and somehow expected to not be ganked.

I don't have a word for that.

Ok lets do the math

Your in a main trade hub : Check
Your in a MKI hauler : Check
Your carrying over 500 mill in loot: Check Shocked including an Eos

So you undock and get scanned and yes you were scanned as there is a little mod called a passive targeter which has a percentage that you as the hauler cannot see the ship locking you up and using his scanner.

BLAM!!! ya ship gives locals a showing of the new ship explosions.

Now...
Firstly why in anyones mind did you have that much loot in a t1 ship. Tbh you asked for it at the point you hit that undock. Youve been around for years yet are stupid enough not to fly a T2 hauler with tank with all that loot.

Give up and quit. Sell your char to ensure you dont come back and put all the money you make into plexes and get another t1 hauler and do it again to ensure you dont come back.

Or get over it and move along nothing to see

Because you didn't see them scan you doesn't mean it didn't happen. Obviously he did scan you, found you elligible and the rest is predictable by anyone vaguely familiar with this forum subsection.

renwahh did the math correctly, and it's not a secret formula. Maybe you should have.

As others said, 13 years player and still flying a T1 hauler and making basic rookie mistakes ... it's either sad or hilarious.

I'm choosing hilarious.

13 years, huh.
Guess you were there for m0o's blockade of Mara?
How did you motivate yourself to stay subscribed when CONCORD was comparatively non-existant?
How did you respond to Yulai's smartbombing?

In short: I don't believe you.

If you can't go anywhere without getting ganked you are rubbish at the game and need to get better, not complain (and lie) on the forums to draw attention to yourself.

I would gank that too.
Most gankers have scanning alt on the other screen, to check if the cargo is profitable enough to gank.

I gank from time to time too, not for the cargo but for the funCool

"Some men just want to watch the world burn."

More than likely though, the ganker had a scout with a passive targeter and a cargo scanner, so they can scan you discretely. They also likely had an alt sitting on the undock in a hauler waiting to scoop any loot and insta-dock before they get blapped as tends to happen to flashy haulers in hisec.

Ganking hasn't gotten worse or more common. Players have just forgotten (or never learned) how to deal with it. If you had put that into a hauler with any kind of tank (Like, say, a freighter, a Transport, an Orca, or a Bowhead) and had used proper undocking techniques (insta-warping to a pre-made undock spot), you'd have been completely fine. I say this both as someone who partakes in the occasional station gank, and who also hauls valuable goods under threat of gank or even War Targets.

To quote a phrase that I hate but is perfectly applicable, "get gud."

Do you have any stuff left or have you given it away already? Also, mind sharing why you thought carrying 800M in a T1 industrial was a good idea?

13 years and you are hauling in an iteron? Carrying 30 times its own value? In a hub system? Without and insta undock? You probably deserved it.

No they aren't killing everyone, don't lie to yourself. A quick look at the killboards shows its almost all undertanked haulers carrying too much value of cargo that get killed. They knew what you had, whether they scanned you (if they could kill you they could scan you) or just sold you the stuff in the first place.

If you were aligning to a stargate, then the ganker had plenty of time to scan your cargo, unless of course you have a 2 second align time.

Also, in case you didnt know, its also possible for the ganker to know what you had by being the person who sold it to you. I know friends who sell ORE strip miners and then keep count on people who bought them, just so they can gank them later.

All in all, you were being an idiot. You died. Nothing more, nothing less. The collective IQ of EVE has gone up a few points thanks to your departure.

In short, cry more, maybe Hello kitty adventure island will be more suited to you. Im sure theres no greifing there.
