No A.I. in any science fiction series sounded like this new Aura. Dump the new speed talking **** and give us back strong and confident Aura.

This isn't some other sci-fi. If my boosters are good enough for me they're good enough for everyone. Ain't nobody got time for old Aura's drawl...

Why invoke sci-fi when there are perfect IRL examples like Rita and Bitching Betty?

I didn't know much of anything about this patch except for the fact its going f2p with alpha/omega states.

So I've loaded up the client to play, ya know...?

Then I open my character sheet and I'm immediately off put, I look through it for a minute or two... and then I close it, not wanting to go through that mess.

I put that in the back of my mind, thinking 'No way CCP will keep that UI, I bet a lot of complaints are on the forum already'.

After that I un-dock and hear the new Aura voice. What a travesty! Aura to me was a major part of Eve, I'm sure it was for others also.

CCP, Aura does not need to be part of the tutorial. Make a new tutorial character or something. This shouldn't be a hard fix, you can even use the voice you already made for it.

Also, if there is not an apology from the DEV that simply said 'Nope' to another post... well I'm not sure if I'll be remaining even if everything else is addressed. That's simply not acceptable.

Locking everything in a single post like this is appalling as well, most of the threads in general are locked. Just let your player base say whats on their mind. Locking so much opinion and feedback just shows utter disrespect.

Let's see what happens.

Short answer, Nothing

Long answer: CCP probably won't revert the voice due to the scope of the NPE changes. Aside from the fact she's alittle fast at times I've learned to deal with the change on SISI and now on TQ.

As much as we want to get this back, sorry folks its probably not gonna happen.

No amount of revolt on the forums will be probably sway their minds to be honest. There have been alot of changes over the years that haven't worked out as intended.

As I piped up about on page 8 or so of this thread the camera still missing features and as much as i'd love to see them work on, i doubt its gonna happen.

Hell They took away a feature that was useful in double tapping the tab key that would roll windows up and down that they never put back dispite various people asking.

CCP does what they want and we're just along for the ride, atleast now you have the option to not pay and play.

Question: Do you see the faction icons at the top and your racial space background? or do you have any arrows in the upper right just below the pin options?

I had the same thing on two of my accounts where the character image just won't show, only the background and icons. If you have this, log a bug for it.

Okay, after docking/undocking and warping several dozens of times to find out.... maybe ... maybe it's not that bad.
Docking request accepted sounds fine to me.
Also if I try to set the same location twice.
Warp drive still upsets me but well... the human race has adapted to other things. Lets see how it feels in a week.

Great Deployment of Patch. However, Bring back Old Aura Voice Please.. Cry that was the essence of EVE.

Also, Why can't I see my portrait on my Main account in the Character Sheet? That little arrow on the top right to expand is missing.

WHen can we expect the news ship gift?

Keep well.

CCP has a great opportunity to earn additional $ if they at least introduce old Aura voice for real cash. Honestly, I would even pay 5-10$ for that.

The undocking of ponderous animation is still tagged to Dynamic Camera Movement. Considering the long delay then silence on fixing some lingering complaints on the New Camera, it might be a while before it's divorced from that checkmark toggle. Wasn't the other workaround involving zooming camera range?

There may have been something, but why do we have to deal with a feature that isn't fully controllable and find a work around. The new camera went live at the start of the year if not earlier. How is it still not addressed. Function over form has always been my preference in things.

The team is working on a lot, I get it and I thank them for the work that they do because at the end of the day this game looks amazing..It seems though like stuff is left out due to available time due to time constraints or lack of want for feature parity.
Its my major gripe in recent years.

I'd rather a fully fleshed out replacement be provided with all features included rather then chopping stuff out due to a particular sampling of the player base that never even heard of/understand why the function is there. It's not fair to the folks that depend on that feature to perform a role or reduce the operations needed to be performed.

Case in the point, the tab rollup was removed cause some people got confused why it was there. Rather then prompting someone the first time they do the action so they understand. It might have gotten a "Hey Neat" reaction vs. A "WTF just happened" reaction.

Oh god, that. Having to adjust FOV back to comfortable zone every_single_time can be considered an improvement only at CCP.

You added a warp tunnel. I learned to ignore it.
You added a "new" map. I turned it off.
You added a "new" scanner. I turned it off.
You added a "new" camera. I turned it off. Then when you made it mandatory, I joined in the threadnought clamoring for a toggle. Upon introduction of that toggle I turned it off again.

I am not unique in the above actions. Most of the players I know have done the same. There is clearly something wrong, when you keep turning out products that the first reaction of your core users is "how do I disable this?"

Now you have added a new Character page. This character page is a significant reduction in the quality of life for the players. You have simply crammed too much needless crap into a single window. As a result you have hampered the ability of the players to use the page for its core purpose - managing the skill queue. The skill queue and the skill page need to be in separate resizeable windows - like they used to be - so they can be put side by side when worked with. There is simply way too much scrolling having to be done now because you cant fit enough of the queue on the small monitors that your players typically use - as opposed to those big dev monitors that you have in your offices. And, what is it with the font? It is so small as to be almost unreadable. Have you learned nothing from the complaints of the past? The tool tips also need to go. Having them pop up every time you hoover over something is annoying as fk since it masks everything below it - and no long playing vet needs the information in the tooltips. It is simply not good design to overload your players with a lot of bells, whistles, and flashy lights while simultaneously masking all of the important game features that are necessary to actually play the game.

TL/DR - either give me back the old character sheet and skill queue or split out the skill queue into a separate window and for the love of Bob - either significantly increase the size of the font or allow for the players to do so.

"I am one of those". I always promote effectiveness over complexity and efficiency over 'design'/look. New is rarely better and more is often less. A true artist knows when to stop at a certain point and at realize when he is going to destroy/distort his art.

That said, I also see a tendency to hold players by the hand too much and screwing training wheels on every corner, there is a difference of guiding new players and carrying them, while force feeding older players.
The option to explore the game and mechanics is pushed aside to explore fixed content, which is minimal in this game anyway. Players learn by exploring the game, most of all, they learn to learn, the information available is overwhelming and distorts the experience and over long, corrupts society.

And here is where I will drift into general observations. The age of technology has given rise to the information flood via access and diminished the ability to actually test and verify its authenticity, because the selected information is in most cases always biased from the beginning. Exploring, testing, coming up with a hypothesis, confirming and breaking it - is pushed aside not not learned (programmed into the brain) if the push of a button or a few keys will give you an answer. - An answer, independent of validity and correctness; and trusted, because people lose (or never gained) the ability to distinguish good from bad information or true from false. in the end the fallacy of an 'argument from authority' gets ingrained.

In short, let players figure out how to get around, don't hide information, but also don't push it on people. The most important thing you can learn is how to learn, gather information and evaluate them, forget the 'having knowledge' principle of a distorted media society and bad schools.

Anyone who thinks he is getting an objective response to a search on the internet is delusional (unless for the first time from a new pc a fresh reinstall and new ip maybe). Every search is already biased from the get go, thanks to the engine and your hidden profile. You have to train yourself, your brain, to overcome the bias and training wheels of your environment, and what better way is there than play and in the form and shape of games.

Damn, didn't want to rant °°

EVE without Aura, is not EVE.

Loving the new interface, explosions, character sheet, general info etc and all slickly delivered - result.
Minor improvements - maybe have one of those minimise "V" arrows on each section of the char sheet (like is on the top section) most the time I don't care about the "My skills" section = more interested in what I have not yet got - ie the queue
That's all - Thankyou.Big smile
Update: did I mention the explosions ? Ships, yes - Structures, Where are my sunglasses ! Shocked

That "Nope" just made me wonder if I trusted my money to the right people. It's not good for PR to give such answers to your customers. I mean, he could have said "We are sorry, but for reasons <...> we won't be bringing old Aura voice back. We are hoping that you will get used to the new one and enjoy our game." But they replied with "nope" instead.

Unlike most of the folks on this thread I actually don't mind her, they just need to slow her down alittle.

I won't pay them for a voice pack, I get why they changed her and I'll get use to the 2.0 version.

It's bad enough that at times it feels like I'm a paying beta tester.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but at times the functionality changes that come down the pipe that aren't feature complete drive me batshit.

Things have been removed with out a replacement or minimal follow up;

Nope - Not good at all.. I mean I get it, we can be straight up mean at times when something happens we don't like and as a result the dev team probably straight up doesn't like dealing with the player base online, however if the community manager pushes back that way when we have a legit argument to a change (albeit due to people not liking change) it does no one any favours and only gets the community more upset.

We can't make change in the game if our feedback isn't being listened too, at the end of the day we're all here to play a game and we want to see everyone happy...

At the end of the day, this is a game and some of us take it more serious then others, by streaming it as a means of income, logging in like its a second job, providing a high level of feed back to the devs through bug reporting on TQ and SISI, developing third party tools to provide out of game support for features that aren't included in client and some of us just play is casually and just take it as it is..

For the more serious player base that treat this almost like another job, we want a good response on our feedback, not to just get shut down, otherwise people stop logging in, stop bug reporting and stop trying to make the overall experience better.

I want to see this game last, I want to keep playing this game and i want to see it thrive.

Just my two cents.

I myself am well acquainted with game industry and PR, so when I have seen this response I got the impression, that they either don't give a crap as long as they get money, or they just hired some newbies who have no idea about community management and PR.
