an Alt here. just had a discussion with corpmates about allowing Caps back in hisec. Sounded good to me, and I had a thought on caps in hisec incursions. If a cap tries to jump into a hisec incursion system, let the gate not be able to handle a cap ship, only sub-cap. If a cap is docked in a station, when he/she tries to uncock, let it give some warnning such as the warning given to players when they try and access the door in CQ. If theres a Cap in system, undocked during an incursion, the drawbacks/penalties will be 50-100% stronger on any cap ships in the area, and bonuses given my caps will be severly cut down.

Just my idea I think would be fun! (excuse any typos, im too lazy to read over everything to spot them P)

The in game browser seems to load really slow the first time it's opened. I haven't confirmed this happens to other players, but it happens to both clients on both computers. No matter what website I'm opening it takes like a minute for it to load first time you open it, from then on it's good till you close it again.

When you lock a target and you got lock on it the client still needs 1-2sec until you see the locked target .

Since the Mac client uses Cider by Transgaming, which is a bastardization of WINE, this should also improve Linux support. ;)

There's some other oddities about locking that are... well... odd. I have long wondered why CCP promotes button bashing for locking targets. Ship warps in, is invulnerable. Every one there begins spamming lock, more than likely making repeated calls to the server in the form of "Can I lock it yet?" "No." "Awwww" "Can I lock it yet?" Rather than this, would it not be better to queue everyone who clicks lock, have a paused status bar for locking the target, then when the server says "okay, you can lock it" just send that message out to everyone who otherwise would be spamming lock?

Secondly, and like unto the first point, spamming the lock button while jammed with ECM. Queue that feces.

Another is the "you can't lock because you just jumped into the system and you have to move your ship first" - so help me, jumping into crowded fights would probably improve if everyone could just start locking stuff rather than having to move first. Less calls to the server, more happy shooting people in the face time.

Yep, these are annoying waiting time type things that seem to me could have server performance improvements via really simple fixes. My two cents, having taken a programming class once and saying "I'm never doing that again."

I apologize if these have been said, or if they are not exactly on-topic.

-Make module cycle time timers accurate, this has seriously degraded in the last 2 years, and it needs to be fixed.
-Make overheating buttons easier to click.
-Show a overload que, so you can see its going to overload on next cycle.
-Any identical item grouping, not just weapons.
-Be able to get to character selection without re-logging.

I think that's it off the top of my head, ill add more later if i think of anything else.

The situation: I am in windowed mode and the eve window is not the focus. I decide I want to do something in eve, something that needs a right click, like say set a sell order for an item. So I slide the mouse over and right click on the item.

And nothing happens.

I right click again. Nothing happens. Then I remember that to get focus first I got to left click, then right click.

I do that and I get focus, but no right click menu. I right click again, nothing happens.

What makes it work is first left click somewhere in the eve window, then move the mouse and right click where I want to. But for me that sequence is totally non-intuitive, and I am forever reflexively clicking clicking clicking in the client window to no effect.

What would be good is for right click to get focus just like left click, and for the right click action to happen with the first click. I know it can be done, because if the focus in on Firefox and I right click in Adobe Reader I get both focus and a right click menu. Works the other way too, and with mail, the finder...etc. Just not Eve.

OSX 10.6.7

(For those who do not know what "right click" is on a MacBook: You put 2 fingers on the trackpad and click, or hold down the command key while clicking, or get a 2 button mouse.)

When logging in. The client freezes up for a few seconds. If the process takes too long, it will look to be unresponsive.

Core 2 Duo 2.0Ghz, 4GB Ram, Windows 7 64bit, GTX 260M

Also, easy ability to link chat channels in other chat channels, mails, etc.

One more thing. Coping link, copies link.

I don't know if your team is responsible for this problem but here it is.

I recently purchased a GTX570 and I can play all my games for hours (Assassin's Creed II, Call of Duty, Shogun 2, Crysis 2, Mass Effect 2...) and the video card will remain below 55 celcius. However in Eve we have a new shiny carbon graphic engine that makes the video card spike at 59 celcius (and climbing) after 5 min of walking in an empty captain quarter... if you want to do more stuff with that technology, you'll shoot yourself in the foot.

The drone window disappears and reappears when drones are deployed, and introduces a few seconds of lag when it does.

One improvement to that I'd like to see eventually is the dragging and dropping of drones into groups.

(My apoligies to those who mentioned this, but I wanted to single it out in its own post.)

Kamuria, in the esc menu there is an option you can set to "interval one". This will enable vsync.

A million times ^this. Hell, at the very least you can predict with 99.99999% accuracy that the user is going to select the first available build/invention slot in the station/array in which the selected BPC/O is stored, and thus be able to choose it for them automatically. This would also help with those annoying cases where I try to use a slot only to find out that someone else has taken it out from under me (because it takes like a minute for the screen to update times for everyone when other people start jobs).

Also, other stuff:

* Inventory window's search box should respond to the same search tags as the assets window (meta:, tech:, etc).

* There should be an option in the market screen settings to condense the Groups screen. When I use groups, I'm almost always doing so to get an easy view of all of the current prices for, say, P1/P2/P3/P4 materials for my beloved spreadsheets. It'd be a lot easier (and probably faster) to be able to see one list of the form:

Item Available Quantity Buy Price Buy Button View Details Button

rather than having to switch windows back and forth, scroll past all of the fluff descriptions, remember which item I stopped off at, etc.

More of a design issue than slow response, but:

Give me an option to expand my color-coded (with tooltip) boxes representing my autopilot route. This way I can see instantly whether or not I'm going through a lone .4 with my hi-val (to me anyway) cargo without having to open the starmap, click on the autopilot tab, expand the route, right click->show info on every hop after the first 5ish and then search for the sec status.

Also, the ability to reorder waypoints without having to go into the starmap. Since you can right click on them now, it should be easy to implement. Options in the context menu should include "move up", "move down", "make waypoint here" (for items which are not marked as a waypoint; adds them as a waypoint in their current position, not at the end of the list), and "optimize waypoints".

Make clicking into Itemhangar focus the window again. My Itemhangar is merged in the Stationwindow/overview/thing. And if there is a window in front of it and I click in my itemhangar, nothing happens. I have to click somewhere near the Stationservice buttons in the "solid" area. That's annoying.

Performance issue:
Every time I sell an item the market window's contents are refreshed which can take quite some time - even if the item listing selected in the market window is not the item I just sold.

QoL issue:
can't count how often I did accidentally set up sell orders for items I wanted to dump on buy orders because I didn't notice that my order creation window was in "Advanced" mode. One of the worst changes during the last year.

QoL issue:
as we all know that market bots are hugely overhyped and actually don't exist at all, the "you are going too fast" window that pops up every time I sell mission loot/salvage should not be necessary.
Having to wait several seconds every few items/stacks before being able to sell more is extremely annoying.

"Performance" issue:
If I set over 9000 waypoints and ask the client to optimize the route for me I usually don't care at all about geting the optimal route. Just try to give me some improvement that can be computed in a reasonable timeframe (and give me some sort of progress bar while that computation is in progress, so I know if I am going to wait for 10 minutes or 10 days).

When I optimize waypoints manually I don't try to solve a large traveling salesman problem optimally in my head (shocker).
Instead I use fast heuristics that are bound to produce suboptimal results in many cases but which usually are a huge improvement over the arrangements I get by clicking "add waypoint" on all systems I want to visit in alphabetical order
(e.g. by solving the high-level problem "in which order am I going to visit those regions?" first and then considering "in which order am I going to visit the systems in Region X?" without considering systems in Region Y, even if those might fit better into the Region X part of my planned trip than into the Region Y part).

This here is a hard one although its not exactly performance but more like ease of access:

When you run a trading business and you have a ton of sellorders, you can only notice an item got sold out by looking at the number of free orders you can have and then you need to go through all your items and check which one got sold out. make it someway so you can easily see which item got sold out. Try going through 300 orders, you'll go nuts after some time. already hard to keep them up to date so you are first tbh...

Two performance issues come to mind:

1 - Save 30 bookmarks to your hangar, can, ship cargo. now close the window! good, now open it and go make coffee, you have 3 minutes of free time to kill before that window shows its contents AGAIN! Any operation like copy and delete will also take some time...

2 - Open the planet view to do some PI. count to 10, slowly... its open!

Would be nice to see some sort of quick nick completion in chat windows like tabbing in IRC (internet relay chat) in order to talk to a specific toon and to maintain a conversation easily in a heavily populated channel.
I still dont understand why this hasnt ever done and why nobody though about it.
Thanks for reading this post CCP.
