I've already liked these two, but I wanted to expand on them as well. If you like these ideas they can be found on the first page.

Anything that can be customized should by default have an export / import function just like the overview.

This would be very useful to the NPE (new player experience) I think. I had a friend that started playing, I took my core_char and core_user .dat files over to his house and replaced the player/user ID so he had my same overview/settings/everything. He said the changes to the UI were probably the single most useful thing I did to help him. It would be great if there was a single file that could make all these changes that users could export and import. I would give them out left and right to help new players in my corp/alliance get everything setup right.

edit: has anyone mentioned brackets yet? Seriously, what's up with brackets? Why are they so bad that fleets have to shut them off in PVP? Why can the client render high detailed 3D scenes easily, while it handles 2D objects like it's 1980?

THIS! A MILLION TIMES THIS! Brackets are important in fights, you can't see where anyone is without them. In large fleet fights it becomes mandatory to turn most/all of them off. Please please please please fix bracket lag.

I don't know if this is a client bug or a server bug, but I'll put it here and let you guys sort it out.

Titan bridge jump bug!

I've experienced this, but I'm not 100% sure what causes it. I've been told two things.
1) You have a session change while the titan bridge is up.
2) You have a session change timer when trying to use the titan bridge

The result is that you are unable to use that titan bridge. You get the message "This person is either not a member of your fleet or not present in this solar system." despite being right next to, and in range of, an open titan bridge.

The horrible thing about this bug is that the only way I know to clear it is to log off and log back on and rejoin fleet while the bridge is DOWN. This means if there are bridges constantly going up trying to get forces to an important fleet fight, you are never going to get through. A bridge is going to be up every time you get back in and rejoin the fleet. It doesn't exactly make the client itself slow down, but it slows down/kills the game play.

It would be UltraAwesome(tm) if corp hangar arrays in wormholes would react a bit more smooth.

Global specs are AMD Athlon II X4 605e 2.3GHz, 4GB RAM, 7200rpm 500GB SATAII disk, MSI GTX 285 OC 2GB.

Runs 3x eve fine with all high on 2x 17" 1280x1024.

Much needed performance optimization:

Brackets.
They are simple 2D sprites yet they have a greater performance impact than the 3D ship models with shaders and all the bells and whistles. Go pay your technical debt.

EDIT: Just saw it was already suggested. Therefore cycling for emphasis.

Fix the fps drop when displaying the log in game and things are happening. A quad core computer should not have the FPS graph dip like the edge of a cliff has been fallen off every time a new line is added to the log

From a n00b that not always understand what fellow corp'ers and trying to explain. If you were to implement some kond of Remote Desktop it would be very cool and the startup for all n00b's will not be as long. Remote Desktop would be great for instance to show how scanning works properly, this is only one example..

You guys ROCK!

A key command to instantly put all graphics settings at minimum and then same to restore would be super helpful for those of us prepping for massive fleet fights, regardless of computer speed. Also another one to turn off all those sebo effects while leaving the turret/missile effects on.

I'd kill for a way to just turn off sebo/eccm effects.

Also, brackets. Brackets slow everything down horribly once you get past like 50 people and so they always have to be turned off in fleet fights. Please, post an explanation of why this happens on everyone's computer and/or fix it. TIA.

CCP mostly sucks at their job, but Veritas is a pretty cool dude.

My short-list:

  1. I'd like an indicator ring around my cargo icon indicating how full my cargo is without having to open the cargo.
  2. Investigate the possibility of storing more data server-side (Market Quickbar, Overview Settings, Bookmarks for the IGB...)

Yea sure, I'll help, just open remote... ok... (you ships start getting dragged into a trade window, wallet suddenly goes dry...) and that's how you scam in Eve! Goodluck {link closed}

Sorry, that's the first thought that went through my head, and I'm not even a griefer these days. I'm sure your suggestion is well intended, but anything like this would cause a lot more harm to new players than good. There's no way CCP can close every loophole and build in enough safeguards for something like this.

WHY ARE SCROLL LISTS SHORT AS HELL!?

It's a pain to scroll up and down to pick between Character search and Solar System in People & Places. There is plenty of room on the screen to display all of the options. This applies to most of the scroll lists in EVE.

Intel HD Graphics Bugs / No Workarounds !!

Please like this post so we can get some attention if this problem has affected you !!

Many of us have reported problems with our Intel chipset graphics, only to be politely told by support that it is not CCP's fault, it is all Intel's fault, so please go away and bother Intel instead. :) I am a dev myself, and I know how frustrating dealing with a problem like this can be. However, many other games have had to deal with Intel's crap as well, and have provided their customers with patches that either "dumb down" the graphics to deal with the problem, or provide some sort of workaround when they detect Intel chipset.

Those experiencing this problem are definitely not happy with Intel, but CCP's response so far has not been good either. That Intel chipset is getting to be very popular with laptops and some of the more "average consumer grade" PC's so you are denying Eve to those people. My own interest is that I have three laptops in my house that cannot use Eve because of this problem... which I wanted to do when winding down for the night or watching a movie... etc.

I'm sure the devs are already aware of the details, but many affected by this, just maybe not current subscribers once they experience the problem. Check the details on my recent petition, and see a small sampling of postings here:

Performance issue:

Interpret my mouse-click or button-mash based on the information I'm using to decide what to click on.

IOTW, don't stealth-update the UI display right after I click but before you process my click location.

This issue affects many things (listed in order of severity)
1. Clicking on the correct targeted "thing" icon.
2. Having a module activate on the correct currently targetted "thing" icon.
3. Correct clicking on the overview (workaroundable, I know, I mash ctrl all the time)
4. Clicking on the correct name in local in a busy or rapidly changing local list.
5. Right-Clicking on the correct name in rapidly changing station lists (to trade)

Justification:

This is not just a timing issue, it happens too regularly and is easily reproduce-able in stations like Jita or Amarr, or when shooting & salvaging in a mission at the same time. Someone decided to update the client status after gathering input but before processing input. This is silly.

This leads to mis-targeting in the case of #1. I have neuted a fleet-mate I was also repping when a target died in an RRBS fleet. I have blown up wrecks when intending to shoot rats. I have a devil of a time trying to trade with my alts in Amarr or Jita.

Honestly, I made the decision to target/click/fire/neut/rep/trade/whatever based on the information I'm seeing just prior to the input - why update the UI after my click but before interpreting it?

Thank you!

When entering, leaving, changing positions or set/remove fleet booster it tooks sometimes very long to see the new settings.
if i join my own fleet wilhe dualboxing most time the "invited to fleet" windows opens instant on the invited character, but if i accept it sometimes takes very long (~30seconds) until i join the fleet actually

When flying logistics, I often find myself untargeting several ships at once to free up some room, but there's a slight delay between when I Ctrl+Shift+Click on a target and when that target actually disappears, presumably because it's waiting for a response from the server confirming the action. Because of this, I have to stop every couple seconds and wait for the client to catch up (and make sure it registered all my clicks correctly).

It would be great if the client would show some kind of immediate feedback while it waits for the server, such as dimming the targets to 40% opacity or so.

EDIT: For something actually slow, bookmarks as items.

IIRC, this was originally implemented to discourage the mass copying and selling of bookmarks on escrow. Since the enabling of warp-to-zero and the creation of corporate bookmarks, this is a "feature" that has probably outlived its usefulness.

the single thing that I have struggled to understand most in my entire eve career (10 years) is the overview. I mostly manage by using luck, guesses and a healthy amount of voodoo to program it but dear god. Make an overview that is at least stable in its eccentrics.

Auto-reload even on grouped guns. If one crystal breaks on my rack of scorches I need to ungroup all guns and then I can't group them any more without unload them all. While I understand the need for breaking crystals there shouldn't be a need for breaking the group. Just a simple reload button to avoid all that hassle would be nice.

I never understood the fact that in the far future I need to bash on my scanner manually every second to scan the area around me. Make a scanner that can be A: automated and B: programmed. I'd say like the overview but god knows how that works. I think it isn't outside the realm of science fiction that spaceships can set-up a scanner to automatically scan for and detect certain classes of ships. (as programmed in the scanner by pilot)
