When changing orders with the wallet and market windows open, the entire client seems to freeze for a second each time either of those two windows updates. The camera sway of the station environment stops; if I was right clicking the next order that jams; if I was typing in a new price that freezes midway through; etc. Basically the whole client locks up each time instead of just the windows involved in the update. This gets pretty frickin' annoying when you have a large list of orders to place or modify.

To expand on this, I rarely close the "Sell" window when going through my inventory. So if I see I can't fill a buy order that is worth it, I leave the window open and go to the next item. This in turn feels like it is rerendering the inventory and does things like deselect items and disable the proper context menu for about 2 seconds every time you either sell an item or the sell window queries the buy orders.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, it can happen in other instances, but the example is fitting:

When you fit a module, there is a slight delay, then your state of interaction with other items or UI elements resets. So if you are in the middle of dragging an item (the next module you want to fit for example) it detaches from your drag and resets to your hangar. You then have to re-grab the item and re-drag, and once dropped onto your ship, the process starts over.

This is a small but consistently annoying behaviour when fitting and managing items in various ways.

To re-iterate, basically your ability to interact with the UI appears to reset itself (hickup) when the client receives confirmation of a state-changing action from the server (like when you tell a module to online, and the server replies that it is now online).

Not sure if I'm describing this accurately enough... I could make a video if this makes no sense :P

Another thing.... trading is an annoying process. It would be super nice if you could drag-drop items onto a character icon (in chat or wherever) to open a trade window containing the items that you dragged.

"You cannot interact with the item because it is being sold."

No. No it's not. I am able to get multiple items locked in this state and the only solution is to relog, and it works every time. I think it's because I leave the sell window open and move to sell new items which reuses the same window.

When I disable a module or a target is lost (by destruction or unlocking), the cycle should end immediately when the timer reaches the bottom and allow me to target something else right away. There are many times when I'm firing half way through the cycle, instead of at the beginning due to this.

Agree! The white cycle time on my guns and MWD continues to go around for about 1/3 of a circle after the last activation has finished. During that time I'm never sure if clicking them will re-activate the module, or have no effect. Then I click it again and I'm not sure if the second click finally activated it, or actually disabled it a second time. Most upsetting.

The client shows the cycle state only when the server replies saying the cycle's been started/stopped, you have to wait 2x your ping plus server processing time for this confirmation. Until then you're just a client that's sent a request (that might not have made it), it could show a faded/different local cycle accurate to your clicks perhaps but factor in a little network & server lag and you'll be complaining your cycles appear to be unresponsibe or slipping back/slow without TiDi being in effect when the state's updated.

I would suggest having a look at the module cycle time trackers. Those little meters that spin around the icon of a module that supposed to let you know how long the cycle will last for. What mostly tends to happen is that they start randomly filled already and will cycle to that point again, but as it is filled up it makes it very hard to keep track of which module is where in its cycle essentially negating its use all together. Even if you start modules at the same time it often so happens that the cycle meters are starting at different points.

As it is this feature is useless as it can't be reliably read. This has been an issue as long as I can remember across plenty of different drivers and settings.

Couple of issues:

1. Overview not updating range, speed, ewar icons etc. It freezes quite often and you lose your bearings in the fight.
2. Ewar icons too small,.
3. Tactical overlay disappears from screen even if the button is highlighted. This happens every second or third time i go through a gate after the latest patch.
4. The fitting tool lacks the option to fit rigs and needs the ability to load up a standard ammo loadup into your cargo hold.

Good luck!

Switching characters is really painful. It would be really, really fantastic (really) if you could switch characters without logging out. Barring that, the whole logging out and logging in process could be much faster - it seems a lot of pain comes from having to restart the client.

Also, don't forget about the Mac client guys. I use the Mac client only occasionally to fly in space, but I do a lot of market stuff, planet management, etc from within it.

Scanning Probes movement.
When you try to move your probes in XY plane you accidentally hit the arrow instead of the top of the cube and the probe moves in Z direction instead of XY.

Please decrease the time that corp/personal assets are cached in the API -- the 6h cache now is a bit too long to effectively track what you have!

I got one for you that chaps my A $ $ and I am sure it does for MANY OTHERS...

EVE Cache...specifically having to clear it. I don't mind doing this because my game runs better (and who knows what files lurk in there)....

BUT I HATE LOSING my web bookmarks, Market Quickbar, and the numerous other things.

Can't we come up with a nice tool that takes these out for me, puts them into a text file for me then REIMPORTS them when don'e clearing the EVE cache?

This would be awesome and save a TON OF TIME.

Thanks,

Grady

These things (especially Market Quickbar) should be stored on the server's per-character cloud.

I would like to be able to stop the animations for warping. It takes so long and the animations are boring for a person who has been playing this as long as i have.

Quick settings changes, so you can swap from PvE mode to PvP mode quickly. I'll give an example.

I like pretty Eve graphics. I like having them turned up pretty high so I can see everything, I like having all my brackets on so I know where things are. I have my overview setup a certain way. However, this isn't optimal for PvP where every second and little bit of lag count, so I turn all that stuff down/off.

I would like to see shortcuts for switching settings, completely switching all the settings, all at once. For example, I have one for PvE, where I'm out ratting, a CTA goes up. I have to go into the ESC menu and turn down all my graphics settings individually. That's 8 dropdown menus and several checkboxes. Next I have to go into my overview settings, I have bracket profiles setup to show the important brackets, I have to turn these on for 4 overviews, the 5th overview I simply turn -all- brackets off (navigation). Next I have to change some of my overviews to show player ships instead of rats for instance.

It would be nice if all of this could be done by clicking a neocom menu and selecting {PvP}, {PvE}, {Mining}... whatever other default settings we want. These settings effectively swap the core_user_111111.dat and core_char_111111.dat files to load all these new settings, so anything you want can be changed to a different default.

I don't know if these are the kind of things your team is looking for, but it's certainly client side, and it would certainly speed things up/make my life easier. Right now I stopped trying, I just leave graphics turned all the way down. I would love to play Eve with pretty graphics much more, but I don't feel like optimizing my settings for PvP every time I go out.

Edit: I have about 4 posts following this so they can be individually liked, I'm not doing it just to spam the forums.

Swapping overview tabs in combat creates a lot of lag. Steps to reproduce....

1. Create a few different overview tabs. Hostile battleship, Hostile logi, Hostile tackle, etc
2. Get into a large fleet fight.
3. Switch to a different tab
4. lag
5. lag
6. lag
7. new tab loaded

It makes using multiple tabs in combat impractical for a lot of fights. Most of the time brackets (if you have them on) will turn off and back on when you switch. If you can speed this up it would be amazing.

Docking

I've seen a lot of people complain about the undocking process (rightfully so), but it seems to me docking is even more painful in terms of the amount of time you have to wait/how slow it is. Sometimes you seem to dock instantly, sometimes you land just a few hundred meters outside of docking range and then you're stuck speeding up from your landing and slowly getting in range. Other times, and I have no idea why and no idea how to reproduce it, you seem to land in range and it still takes forever. You get the voice "docking request accepted" and nothing, nothing, nothing.... I've learned to just hammer the button 500 times till my request gets accepted, I'm sure the server doesn't like that, but my request has been accepted, why am I not docking?
