If you had to permanently abandon all ships for one of the four races

edit- totally misread the question.

I would drop Minmatar. Reguardless of meta. If I had to drop 3 races, I would drop everything but Amarr. Because I started playing Amarr when they were the worst of the meta races.

My choice of pronouns is based on your avatar. Even if I know what is behind the avatar.

Minmatar, easily. The ships themselves look like pieces of scrapheap loosely welded together, stick a pair of wheels on them and you have the foundation for a Mad Max game.

Gallente. Because their designs are horrible, drones are OP, and everybody else is giving me all this nice Caldari SP for free.

Missles have their challenges. I've only seriously played three races. Minmitar have no real attraction for me. They're kind of tribal and brutal from a 'perspective' with little elegance. Their ships seem to follow suit but can't comment on how they actually play because I haven't fought a Minnie against anything else yet.

So, jury is out, but by personal attraction to story and general leaning, I'd vote the Minnie's off the island.

If I was forced at gun point to choose, I would drop Minmatar and cry. :p

I would drop Amarr without a second thought, but Curse being Amarr means that I cannot drop Amarr. I know lots of people find Curse meh these days, but I've always loved it. I fly Gallente and Caldari a lot, but if I had to fly just one single ship for PVP, I would pick Curse (for solo).

cause i love amarr lasers(no ammo. so cargo efficient even with t2 crystals, and if they break load the t1)
and i'm a fan of shields(less stressful to me), so Caldari are sometimes fun(sometimes.....rokh failed me....abaddon and maelstrom look at it in dissapointment)

and hurricane is #1 best looking ship.


while gallente are ugly(my opinion) and both my character's faction(Amarr) and my chosen faction(Caldari) hate gallente so

death to the gallente dogs! quartermaster get my sword! i gonna engage them in melee!!!!

Probably Caldari due to the Pirate Faction crossover I would need Minmatar and Gallente for a lot of PF ships i like. Nothing against Caldari, but if I had to choose there are some ships I just love and couldn't bear to give up.

Amarr would be the last to go since I rolled this character as an Amarr loyalist and I love flying Amarr ships and Amarr lasers.

Gallente there ships are ok for small gang but trash in the end. The other races are better for solo / fleet fights. This is assuming pirate factions are not affected.

That's easy. Bye bye Caldari boats.

Missiles take toooooooo daaaaamn loooooong to reload. That and the whole 'polygons glomped together, dunked in battleship blue/grey paint' doesn't help them with an appearance appeal. Strangely enough, none of my fave pirate ships call for Caldari skills either. So losing them won't break my clones' hearts.

Don't want to give up Caldari because they have the Falcon. I guess I'd give up Minimatar and never fly a Machariel ever again. Not too crazy about that either though, but I don't own a Mach right now, so F it.

As much as the Legion Curse and the Sac tickle my fancy, I would probably give the Amarr ship line up. Most of their ship lines have substitutes that the other races can supply not to the same levels but well enough, like a neut domi.

Caldari. Just don't like toting the missile boats. You'd have to pry Minmatar from my cold, dead, Amarrian hands. Trust the Rust.

Gallente.

Minmatar: Too many ships I like the look of, it would hurt to lose them.
Caldari: I'm actually flying a lot of Caldari-ships, so that would hurt too.
Amarr: Minmatar and Caldari mixed, would hurt the most.

Gallente only has a couple ships I like and I don't like them enough to actually fly them. The Thorax and its derivative hulls are really the only ship I ever liked, but after the many redesigns it has kind of fallen to the wayside. So if I were forced to abandon the ships of one main faction, it would be Gallente.

For overal functionality probably Gallente. Combination of hybrid weapons and drone platforms makes them a pretty solid all-round choice me thinks.
