You know the counter to oversized ABs: WEBS!!!!111oineoeoneoene

Most, if not all oversized prop fits use close range variants of their chosen weapon system, this is especially ironic as you state in your original post:

"The ships which can fit them tend to be able to run them without completely breaking their fits"

I'm sure if an oversized prop with a long range weapon system was possible, it would be done already.

Also this comment:

"maintaining the benefits of the extra mass"

Since when has extra mass EVER been an advantage for a ship that relies on speed? It's like we're not even playing the same game.

Now back to the fitting restriction issue, oversized prop ships therefore NEED to be close to apply any sort of DPS to you. Generally this means engaging in scram range which is also conveniently in the range of, you guessed it, WEBS.

Now stop complaining about something that has not and never been an issue.

don't think they have ever met famed (ab)users in the past like mr. 10mn worm. 2 weapons systems that aren't confused by fast speed. Good pilots knowing the brawler has web....tended to not wander into that range. Little trick of the trade kiters tend to learn. Scrams and webs bad....don't go into their range and life much better.

Or they fly with ships with enhanced web range and/or links to increase range regularly. And while they exist in the game...arguments assuming you need these to counter become problematic.

We have a few frigs 10mn fit incoming looks like. We got loki's? No. We have some links for EW? No. Well then.....this is looking good.

Not saying eve has to be fair. But you shouldn't need to have 1 billion+ in support ships to run every aspect of the game lol. But thats me having an old man moment maybe. the missed t1 suicide runs of many years ago lol. Do we have a plan? Kind of...head to this system way over yonder, see what trouble we can find on the way there. Will we die? Yep, in blazes of glory hopefully. Will we have fun? Definitely. And that was all that mattered.

Well, in a meta where RLMLs, HIC points, and carriers are everywhere, can you really blame players for trying to buck the trend? Small gang and solo don't have many tools at their disposal left, and one of the big upshots of 100mn fits is that they require more skill to fly solo or FC.

If prop mods ever do end up being restricted to their respective size class hulls, they really need to take a second look at them. Outside of FW, t3 fleets, and dual prop they're really not very strong, especially in null.
