Celestis/Arazu/Lachesis Hull Overhaul?

I don't know if I am the only one, but I think that the celestis hull has to be the most appalling looking ship in the game. It seems extremely outdated compared to ships like the tristan, megathron and the Moa. It looks like it has a severe case of beer belly, and it's just a atrocious ship to look at, and as a gallente pilot it makes me sad because I hate looking at the ship.

Maybe I am just being over the top with it, but I am seriously wondering if a hull remodel is within the minds of CCP.

Just a thought? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Every ship is the ugliest ship in Eve to someone.

Personally, the nail gun - I mean the Rupture - needs an overhaul like now.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

The Arazu variant looks OK as long as you keep your Cloaking Device active Blink

Yeah, IMO the Celestis hull is right up there with the Osprey for ships that badly need an overhaul. Unfortunately I think the art pipeline got eaten by new structures so no idea when we'll see more updated ship designs.

You haven't seen the Moa.

Or the Osprey.

The Moa is awesome. You take your heathen opinions elsewhere!

TBH I miss my old moa hull - always looked like some kind of primeval lizard monster to me...

The new one is OK - but not the same.

The osprey is pretty freaky though.

You mean the old Moa, right?

Though, agreed, the Osprey is still one ugly...uh, never mind; seeing as that would be censored anyways, just think of that scene in Predator/Predator 2 when either Danny or Arnold finally gets a look at what's under the mask.

Now think of the Osprey. Same thing.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

MY MOA IS BEUATIFUL

It's no longer a chicken with a briefcase. xD

The Osprey is fugly tho. As is the Bantam.

Rupture is a floating Geometry nightmare...

I personally don't mind the Celestis hull is that bad, but it getting a good old tweak like the Condor got a while back wouldn't be bad at all.

The moa was a magnificent railgun mech. Now it looks like a stealth project from lockheed martin.
The Apocalypse was a sleek, streamlined space rifle with sensible turret placement. Now it's a bloated monstrosity with haphazard turrets that skipped leg day.
The prophecy is a fat chicken.

...and folks: Gallente infiltration by Caldari -well... infiltrators- is paying off. Soon they'll refuse to board their own ships. VICTORY IS AT HAND!

My first ship in EVE was the Reaper - the one before the redesign. When I saw it, I remembered how Arthur Clarke imagined a starship built in orbit - a deformed thing with no regard for aerodynamics. A true creation of - and for - outer space. I assumed that the artists must've been inspired by this concept and thought that it was really cool.

All the new models are slick and shiny, yes, but most of them look like giant space cocks, which is sad. But now you've got the Moa to satisfy your Freudian fantasies, so get your hands off my space walrus!

Speaking of Ugly Gallente ships in need for a redesign... Atron.

Bolting two ugly ships together does indeed make it uglier.

Must have been designed by a Minmatar immigrant...

The Celestis hull is fine. Jusst keep the textures uo to date.

I really preferred most of the old designs. Only a very few of the new designs are close enough to the old stuff to feel right.

Most of the recent stuff is just boring and unimaginative. It all started with the SOE ships which were just adaptations of old designs. Then we were introduced to the new god of symmetry and two dimensional flat flounders.

This is a space game with submarine mechanics. Not a freaky reality show. I can go play space engineers, if I want to have that kind of game.

CCP, please bring back asymmetry and, for the love of god, please fix the Apocalypse. It is looking like a short legged stretched dachshund now.

Remove standings and insurance.

Perhaps this should be in F&I?

I hear that all ships are more beautiful when threads are in their correct spots! Big smile

If you read the original post you'll notice there's no feature or idea here. The OP just thinks the Celestis is ugly and wonders if it will be redesigned.

Personally, I like asymmetry and think it's a shame that ships keep getting makeovers to look like generic atmospheric-fighter type things.
