Plex prices math is wrong.

The listed prices.
1 PLEX
£14.44

BUY
2 PLEX
Save £8.49
£25.49

BUY
MOST POPULAR
6 PLEX
Save £25.45
£76.49

Now if one plex is 14.44

X2 should = £28.88. Thats a saving of £3.39 not £8.49???


X6 plex should cost £86.64. Thats a saving of £10.15. Not £25.49.

Any explanation for this?

There's 15% off packages atm, so the savings are probably related to the full price, not the sale prices.

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

If that were true a saving would be listed on the single plex price. Even then its very very sloppy advertisement / pricing

Agreed..Looking at the 2 plex price of £25.49.

If you then x that by 3 for the 6 plex price it works out at £76.47.

So it's actually cheaper to buy 3x2 plex packages as you then save 2p, buying the 6 pack saves you 0. In fact it's 2p dearer.

As you said, where they get the savings figures from I have no idea.

People keep bringing this up every time there's a PLEX sale.

The current promotion is 15% off compared to the regular prices of the plex PACKAGES, not compared to the regular price of a single plex, or compared to the leftmost price in that list.

So CCP has ALWAYS had the following pricing scheme:

- 1 PLEX = $20
- 2 PLEX = $35
- 6, 12, 24 PLEX = multiples of the 2 PLEX price, no extra savings compared to the 2 PLEX price.

So, with the promotion, they applied the 15% off the regular price for the 1 PLEX package, and they applied 15% off the regular price for the 2 PLEX package, and 15% off the regular price for the 6 PLEX package, and so on.

That's why it's like that.

It's because the "base" price is the 2-PLEX package, not the 1 PLEX package. The 1 PLEX package costs more, relatively. To incentivize you to buy 2 instead of just 1.

Why would they?

Seriously stop and think about it. They want you to spend money - as much as you can bear to part with. Not just CCP - every company that's in the business of making a profit. It's not uncommon for me to go to the store and find a large container of a product (say tuna) "on sale" for the price of two smaller ones - but if I buy the two smaller ones, I get more tuna for the same price. People see the word SALE and their brains shut off.

But it is literally against CCP's (or any company's) best interest to point this out to you. If you want to figure out the best deal for you, figure it out - don't depend on the kindness of strangers to do it for you.

It's a sales promotion created by a Marketing department. Such things are NEVER clear. Most come with pages of small print at the bottom, and with disclaimers. They're always aimed at getting more money out of the customer.

The essence of sales is:

Never offer the perfect deal;
Always add an "annoyance" (increased price on some of the items, or discounts only if you buy in huge bulk, etc.).
But not big enough to discourage people from buying your product.

The logic of discount on bunches is the more you buy the more you save which is not true in this case.

There is nothing worthy in this world even if others think it is worth something...
