SImple if you dont have it locked already and you broadcast it as a target it locks for you. (Or you could make this an option in the settings tab)

Let the trolling begin, tear me up boys.

"No just no"

"Its one extra click wtf?"

I guess when you were told in Large SOV combat all you do is click F1? And you were disappointed that it wasn't as simple?

What would end up happening is a spy starts broadcasting random stuff or fleet members to prevent you from locking any more targets.

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

Guys. READ the OP.

If person A broadcasts a target, but does not have that target locked, the suggestion is that person A and person A alone would lock that target automatically.

I have nothing against this.

As long as it was optional to do so in some manner. If it became automatic it would cause issues in some cases.

I am against this idea as posted. Why? because it seems like a thinly veiled idea to get around sensor damps and that would be a really bad thing. Sensor damped and cannot lock your target, no problem just broadcast it to your fleet and instant lock anyway.

On the other hand the basic idea is not bad so I would suggest we simply turn the process around. You auto broadcast whatever you target lock. Essentially the same thing is accomplished but this would remove the possibility for getting around sensor damps, because CCP would not have to check for things like sensor damping this would be easier and quicker for the devs to implement.

If you were sensor dampened then the lock would fail, but it would at least attempt it.

If you do it the other way, FC's would be broadcasting all their locked targets which is a nightmare.
