They'll certainly make life easier as a manufacturer. Dealing with so many labs and manufacturing arrays has always been a nuisance. I look forward to being able to keep things in one centralized area for ease of access.

They look interesting. Though, it also looks like another structure to defend. It'll be interesting how far they can be placed from a Citadel - managing an ecosystem of disparate structures. I've put manufacturing on hold until these come out.

That's exactly what I'm going to be keeping an eye on.

Citadels are intended to be the defensive powerhouses when it comes to the new structure model. Others are going to be able to fit defenses of course, but not as much as the citadels.

Big problem though, is that blueprints, materials, modules and ships that these things are working on or working with potentially cost a great deal. We all know what kind of loot piñatas manufacturing POSes that are left to decay can be.

We don't know the vulnerability timers of these new structures; if they're going to mimic the citadel plan or if they're going to tweak the times. So potentially, why would I install expensive long-term jobs in an IA that could come under attack, and be locked out of the ability to get my blueprints out? It would be much smarter to install them into a station.

Perhaps the whole asset safety system reduces some of my fears here, but depending on what I've got cooking, I'm not only losing the materials for that thing AND the thing itself, but I'm paying for a percentage of the cost of the blueprint itself just to get it back. Stations, on the other hand, are 100% safe, barring faction warfare and losing control of the station, and even then it's just a temporary delay until you retake the system.

The gains for these structures better be pretty incentivizing.

Taxes for production in stations will go up 1000% and you will have to use them new structures. Twisted

Its not my idea, its CCP.

It has already been said numerous times that all new structures will use the same asset safety mechanism that citadels have. You won't lose your bpo's when such an array gets blown up.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

"Very useful" when inventing or building something.

What would you get back? all the starting items? Only those that have a price on market? some stuff would count as consumed when the project start?

Until we know that it is hard to evaluate the usefulness of those structures.

Looking forward to these too. We already know some points:
- they are independent structures, like a citadel, with own defense
- they have hull bonuses for manufacturing stuff
- manufacturing and research can be done in one array (originally these should have been separate structures)
- reaction are a separate structure coming later together with moon mining
- they will be weaker than citadels with less defense capabilities and a longer vulnerability period
