If we were to stop pandering to dyslexics, they would just fall out of the gene pool over time. Dyslexia and many other genetic issues are getting out of control due to this constant pandering.

You do realize you're trying to end the human race by expanding these sort of concessions??


I think auto correct is just as fun(ny) as the next guy (maybe more), but we have to overlook short term pleasantries and work to sustain the human race for generations to come.

Dyslexic space pilots need to be left behind.

Also there is just regular people typing faster then they really ought to for whom some level of autocorrect would be desirable. For this post i apparently requires a hyphen or a space in the word auto-correct int he first sentence.

For the record i am dyslectix (who the **** came up with a word we cant spell right anyways i mean seriously an Y AND an X? That's excessive) and English isn't my first language.

Also to loop around to Serendipity Lost's point... I really doubt "not being able to spell right" or "taking a long ass time to read" is likely to affect the reproductive chances of an individual more then say the fact that i wear glasses and have health insurance and have been vaccinated for a bunch of diseases. My Hep B vaccination fucks with evolution more then the fact i use spell check. (for the record i have only corrected 3 things auto correct pointed out to me in this post that were caused entirely by me typing to fast, that however does mean it's doing its job)

oh god you reminded me of one of the worst afternoons of my life... I was a diplo and needed to get some **** sorted with CVA (we needed off the KOS list for an op we were planning) AND I HAD TO ROLEPLAY IN DIPLO CHAT... Now i play D&D and Vampire the masquerade and ****, i can do role playing but that was goddamn stupid...

Needless to say a bomberop was immediately planned and we're back on the KOS list :)

Haha some who knows my pain, though I've never started any wars thanks to my dyslexia yet :)



Interesting... I''m always typing "ahve" instead of "have", I just thought it was my dyslexia.

Dyslexic people make the best diplomats because they can both cause and end wars by being somewhat unintelligible.

Watching people type blotto to each other in local chat in different languages also produces endless halarity.

The only way they fall out of the gene pool is if they don't manage to reproduce. I'm pretty sure that they'll still be able to reproduce even without spellcheck. Pretty sure.

In all seriousness Dyslexia is not a disease it is just a condition. It's wont cause any health issue and it won't affect the way we do things or what it important.
Dys- is Greek and means "not" or "not quite". There is also a Dyslexia for math but people with that condition aren't stupid or anything less capable.
With that condition their minds cannot put a meaning to numbers. And while they can be incredible bright people and even get an A in calculus, something where they have to compare numbers to another one will give them the hardest time.

I am totally with FireFrenzy and English is also not my native tongue and every time I write something, I hope I am doing it right and fortunate for me since I moved from Windows(tm) to Linux my Firefox has a spell checker and everything that might be typed "wrong" or with haste gets the red pen line we all remember from school.

Aleria Angelis, we had just the very same topic last week and I told the thread starter to not worry so much about misspelling or putting the words in the right place of a sentence.
Whenever we have trouble understanding a problem you want to make us aware of, we will just ask and so can you.
