As long as I'm the only one in my thread forced to respond to the troll, I figure everyone else can have a civil conversation. Consider me thoroughly embarrassed, if you like.

You're more than welcome to participate in the actual discussion yourself. Although, now that you've identified my true purpose behind the Assembly, perhaps you'd rather not? Or would you...? Hard to know what the Gallentean will like more, isn't it?

I don't know anything about the situation, I don't know anything about either side of this civil war, and I don't know anything about the culture. I have no opinion, because any opinion I take would be drastically under-informed.

On top of that, it's not my culture and I have no business in deciding whats best for it.

Not trying to really question your thoughts because I understand where the majority comes from. The concerns on the market have me wondering: The republic's own corporations have business dealings with the Caldari and even the Empire's corporations to some extent. It may be my own speculation but I highly doubt they respect our culture in their dealings with them. Why would that really be a major issue for the Jin-Mei? Business is business after all. As long as your people are profiting from it does that really matter? If they aren't profiting why are they doing business with them in the first place?

((Don't know ya honestly but welcome back!))

Nice to meet'cha, Deitra.

You're totally right about the existence of what would look like bizarre, competing corporate interests in the territory of the main blocs. What I was referring to though are the documented instances of entities working around our (okay, formerly Harmonious Society) - FedMart the most notorious - but I'm sure Garoun Investment and Quafe's hands aren't clean either...

Anyway, like all peoples of the cluster we squabble. Some of us are very much profiting from the uplift and Gallente business. Others, like my family, friends, and I suspect more Jing-Ko than not - are content to work hard at what they do, seek patrons, raise families, value our traditions and history, and generally follow our rules - the bedrock of our culture.

If I were in charge - and thank the heavens I am not - I'd renegotiate our signing of the charter towards even greater independence, or maybe even realignment, but only if bloodshed was avoidable.

But I'm just the daughter of a farmer. What do I know?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Federal Administration decide that the local Jin Mei authorities had controlling jurisdiction? As I recall FedMart was required to negotiate through the traditional Saan Go caste network, much to their chagrin. There was also significant public pressure put on FedMart by the wider Federation populace for not respecting Jin Mei autonomy.

While I certainly understand that FedMart's actions were hostile towards Jin Mei tradition, and that people would understandably be upset, in the end our Federal system protected the cultural autonomy of the Jin Mei over the corporate interests of FedMart.

As usual, she ignored this completely and instead reverted to the tried and true Caldari tactic of claiming eternal victimhood. You see, people like her are incapable of accomplishing anything for themselves... so they must have an existential conflict with Gallente "oppressors" in order to validate their purposeless existence. Tragic, really.

Claiming what?!

Pity gallentean propagandist. We aren't just 'victims', we fight you and we will destroy you. We will bring justice and you won't be able to get away with it.

You know nothing, pity liar Vero, you have no idea what I have achieved and what I haven't. And you will never know it, because your eyes are blinded with your own lies.

Even Jin-Mei confirmed here that Gallente are oppressors, and you still dare to put word opressors in quotes?

Well, whatever, if you want to lie about your culture. But you was openly lying about Caldari officers too, and that won't be forgiven. You, Rinai Vero at one moment of time tried to show yourself friendly and I even committed a grave mistake by believing even YOU can be friendly and respectful and I was trying to talk to scum like you politely, and even giving my word to you.

But you behaved like all other gallentean scum, by backstabbing and beginning to spread lies out of nothing.

And that's why we don't do diplomacy with gallente.
That's why we wipe your trash from our space with brooms and weapons.

Burn in hell, disrespectful dishonorable lying gallente swine Vero!
Glory to the State!

How many times are you going to ignore that I pointed out how according to your very own statements that you either lied in this topic, or you lied before?

We did not say that, Pilot Kim. I apologize for my bluntness, but disinformation leads to disorder and must be stamped out immediately and without hesitation.

The Gallente are not our oppressors. Sang Do rule Lirsautton, and Ysiette is our sovereign constellation. Our castes are not being removed, we exercise significant influence in the Federal government and that government has sided with us against unbecoming corporate practices.

It may be that someday the Federation is no longer the best place for my people. Ms. Hobbes is quite correct in asserting that we must, from time to time, check our assumptions and see that they still hold true. But until that day comes, know that the Jin Mei are proud of our place in the Federation, and more than capable of standing tall beside our allies.

Knowing Gallente's oppressive and aggressive nature, please excuse me, ma'am, but I tend to believe words of Ms. Hobbes rather than yours.

All due respect, but Ms. Hobbes never called the Gallente oppressors.

Wasn't it what was implied? I guess we have to wait for Ms. Hobbes to clarify then?

Mmm. I suppose now we've all seen the day that a Caldari Officer was too cowardly to defend her honor in public by refuting an accusation that she is a liar.

Three times you are confronted with evidence, and three times you refuse to explain the error. Your whole rationale for your vendettas is that you refuse to let "lies" about you go unanswered, and yet here you are...

So, if you are willing to ignore me, can we make this a regular thing?

Oh, after these four pages, I finally got it!

The Villore Assembly is the thing where Gallente can troll Caldari! And Ms. Vero is in the lead!~

I'd appreciate it if you read over the previous pages again and paid more attention to the issues of substance instead of the personal attacks. Mine included.

Unlike the petty bickering (again, mine included), the on topic discussion of the Jin-Mei situation has focused attention on critical issues that impact millions of Federation citizens. That is the purpose of the Villore Assembly.

Hi again. Had to make a run to Hek so I've been a bit behind on the discussion here!

Anyhoo - you're right about how events played out with FedMart, although the more cynical among us probably think that it only went that way because FedMart got caught. I guarantee GIB is much slicker, being a former employee - haha!

And while I will opt-out of taking a hard stance on if the Federation as 'oppressive', I respectfully submit that not all 'oppression' takes the same or most obvious form.

It's not always enforced with weapons or chains. It can also take the form of societal subversion, or of economic pressure and cultural....smothering, for lack of a better word. Of denying markets or engaging in price manipulation to seek greater leverage (yes, that is business after all, just alien to how we used to do things). Or of planting thoughts and ideas in our young, contrary to our established system of beliefs - all in the name of progress and freedom and "the right side of cluster history."

I can't deny that we've probably gotten more out of being part of the Federation than we put in, on balance. We're probably the breadbasket of the constellation, and a huge and productive market - but depending on which local commission was in-charge of the schoolbooks in your prefecture - we also were raised admitting that we were subsumed, however willingly, at the sight of a very, very big, but holstered, gun. And to a lot of us with traditional brain-wiring, or a conservative upbringing, or whatever you want to call it - it still feels wrong. It's upending our harmony - but that's enough editorializing from me. :)

(OOC: I wish there was more PF than the Lirsautton article, but here we are <3)

Actually, I quite appreciate your "editorial" input. To me, harmony is a concept that requires diversity. One note in isolation can not be harmonious. There must be another note, or notes, existing simultaneously in order for harmony to occur.

I appreciate your being kind to me.

Not to put too fine a point on how and why all this is so hard to some of our more traditionally minded - but as a somewhat shocking reminder, we only achieved our brand of harmony after ethnically cleansing Tei-Su.
