Some ideas for the capital navigation winodw

#1 change it to jump navigation (blops use it too)

#2 let it calculate jump fatigue

#3 let us filter things like range and sec statues from it (i dont need to see all these HS most of the time)

#4 open it up to be used by ppl not in a jump capable ship (be nice if i could see from my cyno toon if i'm in range and no have to ask the other pilots to see

And yet it would still not be capable of competing with Dotlan. Or put in other words: a waste of the oh so expensive dev time.

this window does have a place over dotlan as you can use it much faster and w/o needing to alt-tab. its not so much for planning route as it is to simply get an idea of what your options are.

EDIT:

like double cheeking when your scout has found a target

or when you need to get that Ecyno up and want to make sure you are still in range now that a fight has taken you though a gate

Dotlan in the IGB beats the CNW in both cases, even with your changes. Dotlan does not only limit you to that particular system, but the entire surroundings in case things further escalate/move around. It also keeps an entire area checked so that you do not need to scroll (even with letters) through a list, you just need to check the map.

Situational awareness is superior on dotlan than even a CNW coupled with map functionality - especially now that CCP puts a focus on cinematic style rather than usability.

sure but you still need to have that set up ahead of time and if you clicked exit rather than minimize CNW is faster. also igb will be going out if they ever git crest on par with api. not to meantion dot lan could go down do to an issue server side or god forbid it stops being supported

Nothing can complete with player-made tools. That does not mean that in game tools should not be developed.

I would honestly enjoy a refurbished jump-navigation window.

Only once they have fixed everything else and not create yet another half-assed, later ignored or paused mess like the Industry window, the new map or the new scanner and camera, or the Citadels for that matter.

All ideas have obvious use. All data is available, just not displayed. It only need be checked/shown once per session change.
