Yes EVE community, tell me all about that unicorn kill that slipped out of your grasp...

I'll start: I was with my alt in catalyst's in highsec, and scanned down a mammoth with 4 plex inside. That's no record breaker, but man I could have used that payload. I engaged but concord was quick to destroy my caty's while the mastadon warped off in 75% structure.

Trying to gank a Mastodon with a single Catalyst is equivalent to trying to rob a bank with a spoon.

OK, that's considerably different.

There was once a Charon going from ohbochi to onnamon (pure lowsec route) and we were all in kiting frigs with the nearest reship in 3 jumps out. Suffice to say he moonwalked back to highsec while some of us reshipped into bigger ships.X

Mission flipping with an Enyo and land on a Golem and a Paladin running a mission together.

BOTH aggress and my pants shrink a couple sizes.
Knowing just how much fun it is to try and break the cap recharge on a Paladin I scram the Golem and start to work on the drones.

Meanwhile I'm making all sorts of weird noises on comms, some of which may have even been words. The batphone has been rung and some bored Devils were on the way with logi.

While the Paladin couldn't hit me to save his life, the Golem was managing to deal some damage. The real problem was two full flights of light drones. After murdering a bunch of them, and losing my one drone it starts to dawn on me that it wasn't gonna be two flights, it was going to be more like six or so in total.

I manage to get my armor back up to about 25% or so from the first initial dips into structure by overheating my repper. With drones popping right and left and me grinning like an idiot while my ship is on fire I am informed that logi was about to enter system. Awesome... and then my repper burned out. Whoopsie.

I had to bugger off to the station with my ass on fire or be destroyed. I hated bailing, but it was either the slim chance or no chance. After repairing I dropped back in the pocket, but they had done the wise thing and docked up.

I still occasionally take a little **** for this, and rightfully so. Better management of overheating has been a priority for me since.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

I spotted a Magpie MTU on D-Scan with no mission boat nearby, these things are relatively rare, worth a lot of ISK, and are pretty hard to scan down if you're in a ship without scan bonuses. It takes me a few minutes but I eventually get the warp-in, a Noctis lands on grid at almost the exact same time as me and promptly scoops the MTU right before my eyes. The dude then gives me a wave in local.

One day I'll finally pop one of those things.

There was this one time... I was deep into the game and suddenly the power went out..... Now I realize that was my chance to get out of this game once and for all and it got away!!Cry

I still have nightmares about it!!Ugh

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Seen that Chremoas kill today? I missed it by 30 something seconds being distracted by empty neutral pod... Cry

(killed the pod and was waiting for aggro timer to let me jump the gates)

Once upon a time there were some really toxic guys being removed from their space by my gaggle of handsome space friends.
I was scouting moons because they would often leave behind nifty pos mods and even hangars.
Logged on just after downtime to find a Rorqual being used to scoop a tower, pointed it and spammed comms for backup, made a fleet. Cool german voices tell me they are 1 jump away, Rorqual doesn't even have drones or any friends, this could happen!
The socket is closed, striking for a billion points of butthert.
Rorqual warped away.
iiNet or anything to do with HuaWei, just don't.

The other day an Aeon cyno'd to our station in lowsec. Wow, in all my 10 years I've never been close to ever killing a super. Capitals? Blingy t2 ships of all sizes? You betcha! Supers? Not even close!

We were all freaking out and by all I mean like the 5-6 of us that were actually online. We hop in rattlesnakes and I call for a HIC. One of my corp mates has a huge tank Onyx (dual XLASB) so we should be good to go, awesome. We begin by blasting down the Aeon's fighters. The Aeon had dropped a mix of light and heavy fighters so the damage wasn't that good, JK our Onyx got insta-blapped for some reason.

Our Onyx pilot doesn't believe in drugs, wasn't in his crystal clone but had links. All of our 3 point scrams couldnt keep the Aeon from warping off and it didn't help that our bumps were weak af. The Aeon got away.

That Aeon pilot was beside himself, drunk and unable to comprehend how we didn't kill him as he was not tanked at all. The disappointment was at an all time high after we chatted with the Aeon pilot, myself and another corp mate were pretty upset but no one else was, which I still don't understand.

None of us have ever even been close to WHORING on a super much less actually killing one legit. I've played this game for 10 years, lowsec, small corp PvPer (and I like it that way) so this was my unicorn.

Maybe one day I'll kill a super.

P.S. -- Myself and the other disgruntled pilot recently re-enacted the scenario on SiSi. I was in the Onyx, he was in a Nyx w/ full DPS fit and t2 fighters (the Aeon had t1 fighters). I tanked it without breaking a sweat. FML. Evil

My Moby Di.ck (lol censorwhale) was a LSS Russian alt by the looks of it, in a C3 all by himself with a small pos pitched without SMA. I found him refitting his Kronos off a depot 9000km off the pos, couldn't warp to the depot weirdly.

Stuck around, waited and got people to move towards the hole. Eventually he warped to a site, I followed and rang the alarm. Since he went into bastion immediately and never came out, the plan was made up to get initial engage simultaneously with a strat to take tackle if necessary while having a bomber drop a focused void to make quick work of the guys cap. After triplechecking he was still in bastion we got going. He never noticed my two toons, nor the bomber already in the hole, or the rest of fleet on the other side. #whoneedsscouts

Execution with timing was flawless, bomber and strat decloaked, count to 6, bomb almost there, lock achieved and... lost. The guy warped. I´m not quite sure how he achieved warp so quickly, there wasn't much movement either. Nevermind that he must have dropped out of bastion exactly at the second we decloaked... . Either way, he got out, even had already looted the MTU for ultimate insult.

From now on until all eternity, he´ll be known to me as f..king moby di.ck.

I am the Unicorn.

And although I have my fair share of unhappy endings, I was flying a Nereus and was scrammed and kited and dead to rights.
For the first time like...ever....the ****** little ECM drones actually worked, broke lock and I was able to bolt.

Six jumps back into hi-sec after an hour of playing cat and mouse, I docked with no armor and less than 10% structure.

I thought perhaps it was just a slow night for these guys, because they were very persistent.

Looked in my cargo hold and I mistakenly loaded a couple of purps with a pile of mods I was moving.

Lucky, lucky Dan.

Stupid, stupid Dan.
