Johan to a degree I have to agree with you , I played dust extensively and yes there was a few "knuckle heads" but at the same token I had a 12 year old in my dust corp. Initially I was very hesitant to except his application but in the end i went **** it ...This little guy turned out to be one of my best Dust players and he kicked ass...Yes sometimes the kid worked on my nerves but so did a lot of other grown ups...I think the harshness of eve and dust get rid of those needy kids very quickly. You have to have some character to stick to something challenging .

But yea if i had a choice tbh I also would rather pay a sub not just for your reasons but also to know that money wise the game is supported for long term development.

I can play with younger people if they actually play the game decently and dont screech into a microphone. The bad ones fallow the good ones though.

I didnt realize Fanfest was going on, I'll have to look for the videos once they are uploaded. As for this game, I have no real hopes for it. I'll just keep playing Battlefield 4 until Battlefield 5 comes out. The captians quarters are forever "Barbies avatar dress up dream house" and nothing else. We will never be able to do anything on foot FPS style that directly effects eve unless the devs completely loose there minds and finally decide to kill the game, and to many of the original devs are gone to make this shooter any better then that POS DOOM beta thats out right now. Devs that didnt start with or play EVE = copy whats already out there and say its new.

EVE could use some more depth though I agree with that. Im sitting in space out in lowsec and typing on the forums because I dont feel like shooting red squares or harvesting white ones.

I think that what has been told and shown of the gameplay in Nova so far looks good. Not much have been detailed of what will be the scope of the game yet, but here are some features that I would like to see:

I would like Nova to be based on what is already in EVE's lore and game mechanics, have loads of customization options, don't have class-locked gameplay and the possibilitiy to choose between everything from a full-on action strategy or deeper tactical mechanics within the same game maps.

Have an idea that may help make all these things possible and that is quite simple in itself, it is bacically to have the ability to remote control drones either indirectly, or directly where you control the drone from a first person view.

The remote control can be more or less direct, as these drones have advanced AI. Like the drones you control with your ship in eve, set the action you want them to perform and they will do the rest themselves. However, sometimes it is better to be in direct control, as there will be cases where you will need very precise actions. In these cases, the view in the visor in your helmet, and therefore your monitor, will change to the view from that of what you are controlling, giving a first person view from the drone's viewpoint. The sizes and types of drones would depend on their uses and the missions, and if it is in stations, ships or planetside.

To make it realistically based on what is already in EVE's lore and game mechanics, I thought of the possible settings Nova could have in New Eden and abilities that ships have in eve as a basis and tried to find an equivalent that could be used in Nova.
The best reasons I see to go out on these kind of missions, is to extract items from a location belonging to another faction, sort of infiltration mission with attacker/defender or a setting to find items from an external site like one for exploration, where you race to claim the valuable loot. There would also be settings where there wouldn't be much use for mercs, because more firepower is needed. Then the remote control can go directly from the capsule through your ship that is in orbit not too far away (maybe good for a VR setting also?).

Which technologies would be possible to transfer from ships to the Nova suits? there is a limit to how much there can be , but it doesn't matter much when you can remote control drones and, when on planets, even landgoing drone vehicles. Remote controlling doesn't need a lot of power, the power lies in what you are controlling. There would still be the ships and vehicles you control from inside when on planets, but the abilities between these and those you can remote control wouldn't necessarily have to be very different, it is more of a tactical decision if you want to be aboard or not, protection and efficient movement, or tactical advantages.

So for the possible types and abilities of the drones themselves, this sets the basis for a lot of customization options. It could have uses such as scouting ahead, where the point of view would change to be that of the drone which you are controlling, or abilities like making it cover you while you find cover, and boosting your shields. cloak, remote repair, remote shield others, e-war.

The choice to utilize drones and customizations open the possibility to make the gameplay more open classed. Using drones should not be tied to any particular class, allowing combination set-ups with character and drone, for example character maxed for dps and drone focused on remote shielding. If everyone want to be the same role, then they can make their characters that role and then let the drones do the other.

Utilizing one or more drones should not be a must though and it presents a challenge to focus both on yourself and the drone simultaneously, even though it has its own AI. There is the risk losing the drone if it gets destroyed and one will only have a limited number of them across the team to remote control in a map, so if they are destroyed, you will be back to your own.

The drone control allows for deeper tactics in game, as you can effectively be two places at the same time and run different strategies.

What about Valkyrie gameplay links? Will someone in a Valkyrie ship ever be able to strafe someone in Nova, and will someone in Nova be able to AA someone in Valkyrie?

(Since it's only EVE-flavored and not that one-universe thing, I think I'll pass)

What about making it ground-based first-person sandbox?

What I want:

1. Faces, customization of them like in EVE.
2. Mecha, the walking machine that can be customized with anti infantry and anti vehicle weaponry, fairly slow.
3. Ground artillery.
4. Ties to EVE market and economy.
5. PvE mode with rogue drones using the multiplayer maps.

Same as valk it looks plain dull and ultimately boring.

So awesome! Im done with shooters, but totally support any spin off from Eve online that tries to integrate with our New Eden universe. That's unprecedented, eventually CCP will succeed and it's going to be so cool!
