I might be doing something stupid, since it's my first time using it, but for some weird reason I can't choose The Spire as a location for base/components on the manufacturing list.

The SVR stopped updating for me. I didn't change any settings in the program, I don't have 'disable SVR updates' selected, I have 'Automatically update SVR on BP tab selected, and yet it refuses to give me any SVRs
EDIT: It seems to only have stopped updating SVRs for personally owned blueprints. Non-owned and corp-owned blueprints are still updating

Is anyone else experiencing any issues when trying to update IPH? I've downloaded version 3.2, and am prompted to update when I am starting it up. Once the download is done I get a message saying I'm unable to connect to the remote server. Prior to the update, however, everything seems to be working just fine. I've downloaded/deleted and re-installed it 3 times, and this issue repeats itself, so I guess I just won't update...

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I've had some issues with the updating myself, the issue is primarily caused by how the files are loaded to the cloud. When I first posted an update I received a versioning issue once Zifrian's computer re-connected to the cloud share.

While I'm still getting acclimated to the code I am doing my best to get some fixes out for you!

I will look into the SVR issue as well as the updater issue.

If you're having issues with the updater could you tell me what version the application is?

I'm also working on a new feature that will be releasing soon. I may also change the update logic to try and prevent some future issues.

So you're taking over development of IPH? God bless you!

Would it make sense to start a new thread so you have the ability to edit the 1st post when you update the software?

Indeed I am! I will open up a new thread when I release the next patch (3.3) I'm currently planning out some features of which are

- Revamp the Blueprint page (No longer will you have to scroll around, it has auto-complete!)
- Pop out window that displays blueprints in a hierarchical pattern (I'm still working out the layout but I got that done mostly today)
- Updating logic (Try to improve how updates happen)
- Better Error reporting

I'm also looking for ideas! I'm hoping to have a release sometime within the next couple weeks.

Would be great, if you can add a column in the shopping list export for the endproducts to add the prodprice per unit. Will be easier to track income.

The ability to use ore/compressed ore in the raw material list instead of the refined minerals is what I really wanna see

This is something I plan to tackle in the near future. There are quite a few obstacles calculating this due to ore calculations in general, and whether or not you have access to the ABC Ore (Seriously who wants to only mine Veldspar? :P )

To give you a sense of the complexity and to determine the best 'bang for your buck' many factors need to be considered. Let's use an example just because I like numbers :)

20 x Cormorant:

  • Tritanium x 730,106
  • Pyerite x 220,652
  • Mexallon x 94,991
  • Isogen x 19,902
  • Nocxium x 6,176
  • Zydrine x 3,981
  • Megacyte x 335

With the Tritanium requirement alone we have the option of: Veldspar, Scordite, Pyroxeres, Plagioclase, Omber, Kernite, Hemorphite, Dark Ochre, Crokite, Spodumain, Arkonor

Of course they all give differing values of Tritanium, and just looking at the numbers Spodumain gives double the amount that Arkonor does. So then it becomes a game of what ore is best, etc.

And with that example I just realized how to calculate this... This change will take time though. There are a LOT of factors to take into account :)

That would be absurd to forget about that!

I will say though that this will be a slow roll-out. The calculations are massively complex. I will get a *basic* function working for the next couple weeks, then from there tweaks will be made.

The first release will provide:

- Null Sec Compressed Ores (It can pull HS ores too, but it starts with the best yield; so null)
- Refining in a POS (52% or 54% base yield; need to add a new sub-tab; that's low priority)
- Skills factoring into reprocessing

Right now it's calculating properly, but I don't have a good efficient way of getting it to factor in the skills. It's going to take a few iterations to find something fast and efficient.

I was originally calculating based off the mineral which required the least; this was because I figured it would be easier to go backwards than forwards, that worked fairly well, but the numbers I got I disagreed with. So I'm starting from the top down; i.e. Tritanium -> Morphite

Since there is an Eve Update next week I *hope* to be able to do what needs to be done.

I'm having the update issue. Everything works fine but I'm getting prompted to update. The version # is 3.2.5895.32258.

I've opened a GitHub issue with a description of changes that should remove the dependency on Zifrian's computer.

E: This might be a double-post. I'm sure I clicked on post earlier, but I can't see the previous one...

Apologies that you are having issues. It looks like it's not properly kicking off the transfer. Try running the application as administrator. During the update it tries to load another process, which I'm hypothesizing is failing due to admin rights not being present.

I will also be releasing a fresh installer for this week. Then we won't have any issues if you can't update! (It will be a fresh install, so you'd have to add your API keys again).

This is something I'm going to be working on, but unfortunately I spent a little too much time working on the compressed ore calculations + real life responsibilities = not enough time for update logic.

If running as admin works, please let me know (I can't reproduce the issue on any of the machines I've installed IPH on.) I will be releasing a new version this week (Thursday most likely).

Damn, seeing Zifrian signing out is too bad but I'll totally blame that monster called real life for that. Can't say thanks enough for all the hard work, IPH is what made me understand literally everything I know about industry (may be not all of it but it's ok) and allowed me to win EVE for all these months.

So long and thanks for all the fish o/

It's also good to see someone is taking over tho. Best of luck to Cwit.... what the heck of a name is that? P

Talking business now, about the ore compression calculator there is another pretty important factor to.... factorise, and it's the availability and actual convenience of the blocks themselves. In any case, I think a good way to solve many issues about trying to teach a computer to decide what is "best" is not to teach it at all. Let the user decide a list of priorities in which they want to buy blocks. Literally something in the form of a list where you can move the different ores up and down in order to show which one you wanna buy first.

For instance if you are in highsec (and buy them in Jita) you'll probably will have something like:

Veld
Scord
Kern
.....
.....
Mercoxit

If you are in the loneliness of some forgotten Drone system, you'll probably prioritize spod over veld as in:

Spod
Bisto
Gneiss
Crok
Mercoxit

This way you can also exclude those who are not convenient or simply not present at all in the local market.

Anyway, looking forward to see the new thread and course of things.
