So, no one likes Space AIDS except the weirdos who get all stankpants over AIDS sores.

The issue with space AIDS (AKA Jump Fatigue) is that you get the same amount regardless of how far you jump - just how often. This means that fine upstanding capsuleers get punished for hotdropping nextdoor as much as logistics monkeys get whipped for trying to keep their space empire overlords in their druthers in deep dullsec.

It is time CCP introduced Faloff to Jump Fatigue, allowing shorter jumps up to the optimal jump range to accrue a fixed amount of hideous viral sores, and then for an extra range increment on top of the Optimal, you can get progressively more space plague content sickness for pushing yourself to jump/portal further than normal.

eg, ye typical BLOPs has a 4LY range at the moment. It gets a flat AIDS viral load per jump.

Under this system, there'd be a flat AIDS for jumps up to 2 LY and then an escalating AIDS for each half a LY above that, up to 4 LY. This would mean that for <2LY jumps you'd get less per jump.

This terribad idea brought to you by Araikas Rhal's delirious infection dreams.

Sounds like I'm posting in a "working as intended" thread.

Erm...you do know the amount of fatigue received is already based on distance, right?

Here's the formula, swiped from http://fatigue.nakamura-labs.com/index.html

Quote:
Cooldown (minutes) = Max ( fatigue / 10, 1 + ( distance in lightyears * ( 1 - bonus ) ) )

Fatigue (minutes) = Min ( 60 * 24 * 30, Max ( fatigue, 10 ) * ( 1 + ( distance in lightyears * ( 1 - bonus ) ) ) )

Please note that distance is already a factor.

1. Nobody is using base distance if you don't have at least JDC 4 and you use a blops you should biomass and quit eve.
2. It's already distance based

Why are you getting pissed off over something you apparently never in your life used before?
