Things EVE gets right

1: Inventory. No limits on what I can horde. So much stuff I really have no clue what I have. It's like finding money in the couch.

2: Lazors. Yea, they suck in PvP but they are fun.

3: It's big, really big. If I were to put a ship in every hangar in EVE I would have an Asset list that would stretch from here to Hong Kong.

4: My Avatars are smexy. It's easy to like them. They grow on you.

5: Alot of MMO's frown on and discourage multi boxing. While it creates head aches for EVE, multi boxing is an asset. In my wandering to other games, I found myself multi boxing even when it wan't usefull to do so and it's a carryover from EVE. So many of my gaming habits I learned here and it's second nature to just play "that way" because it worked in EVE. I never took the time to say thank you for that, CCP and EVE hooligans. I do now. Tough love, just mean spirit, whatever. It made me a better gamer.

Thanks EVE.

Point 1 makes me so happy in my pants......

'Full of Hate for full inventories' Evil

Jint Hikaru - Miner / Salvager / Explorer / SpaceBum In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

I like spaceships, I like complexity, I like spreadsheets, and I like having to take a step back and THINK about what I'm doing.
I like being able to work on the game outside the game. I recently worked out my short-term industry plan while washing my hair in the shower. I plan my training queue at work.

The mentality drips into other games. I have to keep pausing skyrim to calculate the weight-to-septims ratio of my inventory, and buy up crafting supplies to turn into saleable products at a profit, and grind things out one after another.

I'm currently working on a spreadsheet for my industrial dabblings, as well.

It goes beyond games for me.
I can't even watch CNN or Fox News any more. After years in the fire holes of of EVE and her forums I listen to them and laugh. It's so easy to see scams, hussles, rip off artists and spin doctors now. The only question I ever have is, What's he selling?

I'm not sure I get the point of this thread. There is no trolling, arguing, and there is a general good mood. (plus a lousy subject, please fix that)

Things I like:

  1. Something for everyone. Doesn't matter what type of person you are, you can find your niche easily.
  2. Interaction with people. It's a MMO that's actually fully multiplayer.
  3. More adrenaline packed than any other game I've ever played. Don't know how, but I love it.
  4. Tears.

some counter points...

Inventory does have a maximum limit in number of stacks. It's been a while since I hit it but I think it's 100,000 stacks. So 100,000 X 100,000 (using station containers) stacks. As far as limits go, yeah, that's pretty good.

And lol @ the avatars. Come on, they look like mannequins dressed in k-mart clothes with a sense of makeup/tatoo's of a kindergartener with a pot of fingerpaint. EVE isn't the first game where you can adjust cup size, and it's not the most effective at it. Bring back the days when avatars were art, not something that looks like they were mass produced in china.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

Well, there is some limit somewhere. I decided in my very rare mission "adventures" to collect all loot and salvage into one 100K can. I'm now at 67K, which took me a long long time since RL is in my way quite a lotWhat?, and opening the can, can take up quite a bit. Cool

Just because you and most of the other people playing this game suck at making realistic looking avatars doesn't make this true.

Owh you addressed the max limit. :3 Should had read that before poasting.

But I agree with you on the avatars.
So much got lost.

Think tough if CCP brought back the clothing and hair styles, replacing the current german ww2 military look, things may not be so bad.

It is not the realistic part that bothers some but that in the past we had a very distinct different look per race, which was achieved by the right clothing..

Where is my Gallente plastic coating?
Where is the Amarr 'godlike' shiny gold fluff?
The Minmater rust mouth buckets?
Etc, etc, etc.

I don't dislike the character creator, it is a marvelous creation, but the stuff we can choose from to wear sucks big time. It's all the same.

The selection is actually somewhat wider in numbers than the original character creator, but the expectations are also much bigger. The selection also appears to be less... creative.

I sort of miss the lightbulb heads of the Gallente, but I sort of don't. It gives the Eve universe an extra layer of "dignity", which it certainly needs in order to maintain its standing as a "cold harsh world". Some sillier options would be nice (we're motherf*cking capsuleers without a care in the world) but the selection is "OK" for now, and I can wait for it to be expanded.
