I do not know if I post in the right place. Feel free to move this post if necessary.

Hello,
I Sha mael, pilot of a small corporation an active guys 10aine every night, who lives and hunts in WH. My alliance has more than 400 pilots and lived for 3 years in WH.

I wanted to alert you to two changes you want to implement and which strongly impact the Game-play in WH:
- Do not know when someone is online / Online status is dead
- Not being able to see who is present in a citadel from outside

These discussions have been discussed on a French forum of Wormholeux sides:
http://frugu.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1752&start=30
The wormholleur concluded that these changes strongly prevent hunting in WH and cause us to not live in WH.

1) Do not know when someone is Online
When we enter a WH and we believe that the time zone is comparable to ours, we use the characters Bookmark function for whether people are present. If they are active, we spend time to scout the WH. If they are not active, we move to another WH.
Without this function Watch List, we will not be able to find active people in WH.
When we passed large groups of WH we Bookmark their members to get an estimate of their numbers and thus estimate if a fight is good.
Without this function present, we will not be able to engage in combat against large groups of WH and we will only wait they go out.

2) Do not see who is present in a citadel
Currently when we scouting the WH to identify targets, we do POS round to see if anyone is present in POS. If there are people, we seek to provoke a fight. If there is none, we go to the next WH.
If we can not see who is present in the citadels, we will no longer seek to engage in combat.

These activities represent the basis of our life Wormhole.
If we can not engage in combat WH, we have nothing more to do there and our corporation may have to get out of WH to live elsewhere. And unfortunately if we WH as long (our corporation has more than 3 years of life WH) is that no other place suits us.

Remove the ability to see who is online and remove the ability to see who is present citadel withdraws us the great majority of our fighting and away our motivation to play Wormhole. How do you not WH reduce our activities? How do you not depopulate the WH PvPeurs with these two measures?

Whormoleux propose two minor changes so that we can continue to live in WH:
- Being able to see which is docked in citadel M, L and XL
- Limit the watch list 20 pilots

Hoping to read you,

Regards,
Sha mael.

French version (my language, sorry)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

http://frugu.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1752&start=30

I don't even like the idea of allowing the larger citadels in wormhole systems, but it might be useful to give some sort of recent activity indicator--something that lights up when pilots are docked inside or have been in it recently.

Please stop referring to intel as "free intel". I don't recall the OP suggesting that said intel be free. If you want to discuss the cost of the intel, let's talk about that. But don't strawman the OP.

I have mixed feelings about the potential change to the watch list. On the one hand it is very useful to see when people are online (it is intel - if not, no one would be fused with the change). On the other hand it is nice to know that people won't know when I or an alt are online unless we are mutually watch listed.

This change will certainly have a dramatic impact on Wormhole living simply because Local does not automatically provide intel as to who online and in the system.

However, is that enough to not change it?

The OPs complaint that they also cannot see who is 'docked' in the Citadel, like one can see when someone is in a POS. I don't have a problem with that. CCP did mention that there should be a way to see who is in the Citadel if anyone is inside. It just might require you to uncloak.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

Citadels will have lights when they are active in terms of services operating which tells you if it's a dead corp or a live corp.

Given people in citadels can see out, I don't have an issue with something like a ship scanner or cargo scanner giving you the ability to see who is docked & online, it requires decloaking and locking the citadel, giving them a chance to lock you if they are on the ball in return (which instantly tells you someone is driving the citadel).

You also should be able to check holes much faster since you won't need to check 30 POS per system, but a couple of Citadels.

Edit, added note about online, since offline people can't see out I'm not sure you should get intel on their location.
