The EVEception Theory

Greetings,

As you are well aware, CCP recently released a chronicle revealing some troubling news about what exactly is wormhole space - A.K.A. Anoikis. A deeper analysis and possible implications of such a revelation can be read about here. I have come to a realization which, should it be proven right, could shake up the very fabric we call "reality".

The Facts

If we piece together what we know, Anoikis is a digital reality - a sort of dream world if you will - existing inside the world of EVE Online which itself, is a virtual world. We, the players from real life, log into EVE every day all across the world in order to manipulate the characters we created using our primitive computer systems. Then, some of these characters input themselves using ships through the help of wormholes to access a new sub-layer of virtual reality we know as Anoikis. Interestingly enough, every new layer comes with a level of technology incomprehensible to the one above it.

The Question

How do we know, in all those supposed thousands of years Anoikis was left untouched from its inception, that the entities (Talocan, Jove 2.0, Sleepers, Drifters, The Other or Bob) from there did not create their own EVE Online?

Think about it; we seem driven and compelled to satisfy our needs for a fantasy world else we might drive ourselves insane. Look at inmates living in solitary confinement for extended periods of time. Look at all those movies about sole survivors. Look in the mirror when you find yourself driving alone in a car for days without break.

The Meaning

I may not have all the answers, but I do know this; If we already have 3 layers to this conspiracy then there must be more. Which begs the questions:
- Where do we find the hidden doors?
- How do we unplug ourselves from the Matrix?
- Are we simply the manifestation of cavemen playing with sticks and stones?

That's not what they mean by Anoikis being artificial.

It's artificial in the sense that it is a bunch of very real cosmological objects that have been artificially 'constructed' and placed. It is not a virtual reality within a virtual reality.

"[Anoikis] is itself only a component in the grand design that the Talocan made real"
"They altered the very fabric of space-time"

Then again, where is the line between artificial and virtual? A virtual world is by definition artificial.

No, you don't understand.

Altering the very fabric of space-time =/= created a virtual reality.

The reality in Anoikis is very real. You don't 'download' into it like the matrix, you literally go there, your whole body and ship actually goes there. By 'artificial' they mean that things like planets and suns and stuff were all either created there by artificial means instead of natural ones, or moved there away from their natural point of origin. Bodies like planets are placed into orbits of stars, and the moons are placed into the orbits of their planets ARTIFICIALLY instead of as the result of natural star formation. But if you land on a planet there, it will be rock, not pixels, at your feet. Very real rock.

A virtual world is, indeed, artificial by definition. But it's not the only kind of artificial world that can exist. Anyone that's played Halo or understands the lore behind the Corellia system in Star Wars knows this.

It's like people can only think in terms derived from movies or books they've already seen.
It wasn't always this way, really, it wasn't.

Immediately after saying we space is artifical he goes on to explain how the Talocan created the grid that makes up wormhole space. For further proof, please see Project Compass, a capsuleer led project that confirmed the grid not too long ago. Sadly they did not get any recognition for this in the chronicle =(

AGH oh GHOD so many WORDS so little DESCRIPTION.
Perhaps if i were to articulate my thought forms into a long-winded and -harumph- prolix array of run-on sentences i could derive a modicum of gravitas from the seemingly aloof glamour afforded to emotionally impervious boilerplate.
BLAM.
Out across the plain the wind is picking up. Mountainous blue clouds drag their shadows over our destination, a burning drum of oil tracing a black stripe eastwards.
"Don't get any ideas." croaks Zeak, wiping a calloused hand across his oily, unshaven face. The dagger rattles on the floor of the rover, a witless poem of puncture.
"Not a problem, Zeak, ideas are the enemy."

Movies about sole survivors....ah yeah...and all those toothpaste ads...erectile dysfunction....the list is endless!

To answer some of what was mentioned above:

1. The Initial Source
- Anoikis is a sub-part of EVE Online, and EVE is a virtual reality. This means wormhole space is de facto a virtual reality, at least from our perspective.

2. The Entrance/Download Issue
- No one really knows what happens when someone enters a "wormhole"... And judging from say, the movie Interstellar, one could argue 5th dimension or whatever you want to call it.

4. The Drugs, How Good Are They?
- Not sure, but I would not recommend consuming more than 10 Quafe Zeros like I did.

I always thought Anoikis being artificial simply meant that each of these wormhole systems was physically real and in it's original patch of space but were joined through wormholes. Through some wibbly-wobbly relativity wormholey magic they have been able to "join" together parts of the universe seperated by large amounts of space and time. The wormhole connections act as tunnels between these seperate pockets effectively connecting them into an artificial "region" of space you can travel to.
