@Jaantrag @The Ginger Sith It has to do with our attempt to parse the notifications texts from CCP API. Will investigate further.

Edit: Do me a favor and clear the AppData\Local\Temp folder and try again.

Whats the plan with EVEMon once battleclinic closes?

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.

cleaning temp has the same issue ..

seems like its something with the AV program .. didint pop up any errors while i had AV turned off .. to think back the issues started when i switched to Panda . ..

Thanks for getting back.
I didn't replied cause I couldn't reproduce it locally.
AV seems the primary suspect as they lock the file they are scanning.
When EVEMon tries to parse a notification text it compiles a parser and puts it in the temp folder.
Usually the AV programs detect that and try to scan the file locking it, thus EVEMon is unable to access it, thus resulting to crash.

Never the less I will add a guard on that code section to gracefully handle those cases.
Even if the compilation of the parser fails EVEMon falls back to an internal backup parser, so there is no harm done.
The only downsize would be that your EVEMon may not have the latest improvements of the parser, until the next release.

Edit: Setting an exception/exclusion in the AV program for EVEMon may fix the issue.

@Jaantrag @The Ginger Sith
What is weird with your issue is that EVEMon should not generate a file in Temp folder when compiling the parser.
I have deliberately specified in code that the compilation should be done in memory.
And from my testings no file is generated.
So beats me why in your cases a file is been put in the Temp folder.
Could the AV program do that? Personally I don't know.

Until yesterday i had a good amount of ISK on one of my toons. Spent it yesterday and since then the balance is shown yellow. Is this intentional?

It means you have insufficient balance for your market orders. Check Tools > Options... > Notifications

Ahh ok i see. Ok. But my settings for Insufficient Balance is "never" and the box "show" is not checked. From my understanding it shouldn´t show this then or am i wrong somewhere?

The settings have to do with notifications. This is an indicator. Never had complains before, but if it satisfies your OCD I can put an exception to it if all settings are set to off.

Oh no.^^

I am not complaining just said it because maybe there could have been a bug. It is not really a game- (or programm-) breaking thing so no need to work on that.

This indicator doesn't show up if you are monitoring your market orders even with notifications turned on. It was added as an additional warning (thus why it's orange) to the market entrepreneurs out there.
Personally I believe we should keep it even with the notifications turned off. It doesn't hurt to be informed.

Yeap. It's the parser allright. Have no clue why it compiles a copy to the disk. The code says specifically to the compiler to do it in memory.

Using 3.0.0.4333

I've been playing with v3 and am having a problem with loading the settings from dropbox. It's telling me that the file is likely from a version older than 1.3.0 and is no longer supported. It then asks if I want to use the local settings.

To attempt to remedy this, I:

cleared the cache
reset the settings
deleted the link to dropbox
deleted all settings backups

Reinput the API keys
Re-authorized dropbox
closed evemon and watched the settings file get copied to dropbox

reopen evemon...same message about the incompatible file.

Then I discovered the problem.

The settings that are written to dropbox are archived into a file called 'settings'. Inside the archive is an xml file called 'setings~'. I extracted this and removed the tilde from the end. Evemon no longer complains.

But, when evemon shuts down, It replaces that file with the compressed version.

In short:
On exit, evemon uploads the settings into a compressed archive. On startup, evemon expects to find an uncompressed file.

@Mintoko
I wouldn't recommend using v3 yet. Not until we hit RC at least.
Still though thanks for the report. I'll look into that.

Edit: It turned out to be a Dropbox breaking change in their API. I changed the code to deal with it.

Is something off w/ EveMon or the API after the Feb update?

After extracting and re-injecting some SP, I noticed that EveMon didn't seem to recognize the extraction of the skills: it sees the new SP / skills I added, but still thinks I have points in the ones I removed, so my SP total is wrong. I then updated EveMon, wiped all my character data, destroyed and regenerated my API key and re-imported my characters, and the SP / skills are still wrong.

Wondering if this is even an EveMon issue...is the API not reporting post-extraction characters correctly?

Most likely. Check with EVEMon's API Tester.
