Here's one I haven't seen anyone else suggest: let's see the chance we have to successfully jam ships with an equipped ECM jammer or ECM Burst based on either our own ship's sensor strength or using sensor strength presets, and taking into account sensor type, e.g. magnetometric, etc.

If we had such a trick, all ECM pilots would see how near impossible it is to jam anything BS or above.. the screenshots in the forums would be entertaining.

Not really, I have jammed a fair number of battleships in my Scorpion, and that has the same jam strength as the Blackbird. People will probably be surprised, however, that the calculation is so highly dependent on marginal differences. Rooks and Falcons can probably jam near 90% chance of success on a lot of ships that a Blackbird or Scorpion will have under 66% jam chance on. Also, not using the racial jammer will likely reveal that your jam chance goes down MUCH more than just 1/3rd.

The most important part of revealing such info would be to get more people to understand how it works, so that they could begin making proper tests and theorycrafts, and there would be more folks to advise CCP on how to adjust it to be better balanced. Most of the stuff that works well in this game is widely understood by the community at large; the stuff that is the most broken is the stuff nobody understands.

I get it, but I'm trying to comprehend why a scorpion wouldn't jam better than a Tech II cruiser..

And you would figure that a Widow would be the bar-none ECM platform. You can make it work better than a falcon/rook, but the difference is not that big (at least on EFT). The split in the Hull bonuses I think was a good start, but I don't think its high enough on the scorpion / widow. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I'd like to see the jam chance and/or EWAR strength and optimal/fallof's in the ghost fitting though.

It's not huge, but getting that visual before you undock might just make the difference when flying a new ship.

haven't read the whole thread, I leave that to you hardworking fella's in CCP, but I'd like to see damage of hull and armor, at any given docked ship.

I would love to see alpha strike value and the effects of ships' role bonuses on stats next to the total value.

Those who are or have supplied fitted ships to there Alliance, corp or events have spent countless hours boarding ships, selecting fitting, and press "Fit", then wash - rinse - and repeat. .... and repeat... repeat...

So my suggestion is such:

Using similar window and concept as when building ships.
- Drop fitting into window
- Select number of ships to be fitted
- Select location of ships and items to be fitted
- Press "Fit"

3 min (+/- cocking time) and you have 1000 fitted Rifters to give out, and hours more to actually play the game.

And of course, it works as well with 1 as with 1000 ships.

What you think, pointless or good to have ?

I still don't understand why I can't use a ship fitting like a blueprint either

Would be nice to be able to disable the 3D view of the fitting window to help performance. Like the static station environment.

I'm sure you're too far into dev now, but I'd focus on 2 use cases: buying a fit and tweaking a fit while waiting for your weapons timer. It would be nice if the fitting window told me more about how to kill that frigate that won't die, or why it makes my shield drop so fast.

Um, would you believe me if I said it was already there under Navigation? 1 t = 1000 kg

Even if it wasn't in the fitting window, it's only two clicks away from the fitting window. :)

I'd add EHP for given common damage profiles: omni, weakest resist overall, weakest resist on primary tank, and certain common damage profiles such as 'laser' or 'hybrid,' though I acknowledge those are variably mixed. :x

Also, projections with links are lovely, but I see how that could be harder to implement. :x

With respect to ehp, what would be super nice would be to be able to drag n drop an ammo/drone item link from the market or chat or inventory, and see an ehp figure vs that ammo.

I know that CCP does not give dates for releases... I'm not asking for an identified patch that will have this, but can we at least know if this is coming like.... In 2016 at least? Will you be at the minimum, "trying" for this year?

=D As someone who has resisted downloading EFFT or Pyfa out of sheer laziness, I wholeheartedly approve this being implemented asap

Wish List:

* Have an option to add the environmental effects of various wormholes and their varying strengths in the various wormhole classes. Would help in planning doctrines to attack or defend wormholes with varying effects.

* Scroll Bar to show what ship would look like after long term ownership (the rust and other effects that were implemented)

* Ability to collaborate with another player in the window. Have a more experienced member go through the fitting progress and be able to see what the newer member was doing or suggesting. Slow and inefficient via text., but ultimately unnecessary as fittings are easily shared already in game.

*Ship explodes when you delete a fitting or start over. Why not =p

These are all unnecessary and difficult to implement, I know. Hard to hide my enthusiasm for this project and its eventual, or potential release.

Now knowing what could be coming in March, could the fitting window show capacitor resistance similarly to armor etc resist. Also similar bar for ECCM etc. resistance could be nice.

At its current rate I think we're more likely to see unicorns before we'll see this tool arrive.

Can you confirm that work on this has been discontinued?

As shown in the picture from the FF (March) 2014 Keynote above it was announced for 2015, along CCP Seagull stating that it's "not far from a test server" (just in case somebody forgot that).

It seems like some more action appears to be required.

Well it's officially over a month since I last posted here to ask if the project has been cancelled, so I'm taking it to be vapourware.

Please close this topic, CCP.
