Selecting via Watchlist

Currently, the Watchlist allows you to do many things... However, on of the things it doesn't do is one of the things you'd assume it could do.
Selecting.. IE, placing that ship in your selected item window.

Where this becomes annoying is anchoring.
You either have to find them in the overview, or target them using the Watchlist, then selecting them and clicking orbit.
It's pretty tedious, especially when things are going on and off your overview, moving your intended selection up and down causing misclicks.

Simple, you click a player on the Watchlist, and it puts their ship in the selected item window.
Now you can anchor with less micromanagement.

If this is already possible in some way I'm not aware of, enlighten me.
If it's not,'let's put it in!

I don't deal in large scale battles at all,

But can't you just click and drag anchor into the fleet watchlist and rightclick the name and orbit from there? No need to use the overview menu or the little box that allows you to set orbit?

Sorry if that's what your complaining about, or I completely missed the point, I only deal with small gang pvp. XD

That is exactly what's already possible with the watch list via right click or radial menu.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Right click on entry in watch list > orbit / keep at range / whatever.

If the option isn't there and you are on grid with the character on the watch list, then it means you can't for some reason (you are still in warp, they are too far away, etc.)

Thanks guys... Playing this game for however many years and never thought to right click, lol

Having said that, it would still be nice if it selected like it does with the overview

If I am on grid with the same person and within 150 km (beyond that you need to warp to the WL'd person first), I have Orbit, Approach, Keep at Range and Lock in the right click menu and the radial menu.

Hmm... I'll have to try again.. I didn't pay attention to what range I was at. Surely I was within 100.
Now, I don't use the radial menu.. I'm a bit old school and not too much a fan of it.

I have to agree with you in that regard. I just had the fleet experience that would have made that very helpful: After a longer time of alignment to a thing, the fleet was spread out and then the FC gave the order to approach him. I needed to lock the FC in order to be able to look at him/use the center camera on target to know where he is and whether I needed to turn the AB off to turn around or keep just going forward. Would have been very helpful if he showed up in Selected Items so that I can look at/use the center camera on him quicker.

This is basically the main problem I've had.

When it comes to anchoring up in a large fleet, I typically have to target the anchor in order to speed up the anchoring process.
As a logi pilot, this reduces my response time to logi requests.
