This isn't FOR feedback on the new camera features

"As there is already a thread dedicated to the feedback on the new camera features, I will go ahead and closed this one."

Like the topic says, this isn't a thread FOR feedback, it's a thread asking people to get on the test server and actually use the feed back thread that also exists. Its also a thread for discussing the need for people to actually use the test server and provide feed back instead of just letting changes get implemented and then moaning about them. So I will say again...

With the new launcher there's really no excuse not to do it. Specifically people need to see these new camera "improvements" and start giving their opinions before the entire live community gets stuck with them. Personally I think they are atrocious and should never see the light of day and I think that the majority of the masses are going to agree. That's just my opinion though so please prove me wrong or prove me right, because if more people don't start giving opinions on these changes now we're gonna get them without a say in the matter. Bump this thread with whatever response you feel is necessary so that people will be exposed and draw their own conclusions.

Because heaven forbid GD actually be used for GD concerning the EvE universe, game changes and community. Why don't we just go ahead and get rid of GD and have everyone post everything in the appropriate subforum. Because absolutely everything can be conveniently categorized if you put forth enough effort, when the need arises or when they'd just rather you didn't talk about dirty little things they'd rather keep in the closet.

You should petition the lock, else this might get the same treatment...

And keep your opinion about moderation to yourself.
Curbstomp the ego part.

Just do yourself a favour and listen, please.

I think that replies in GD, like in this thread here, often are less important than the exposure.

Why would you want to get rid of GD? :O

You're absolutely correct Solecist, just annoyed.
They make questionable changes and ask for feedback, we give feedback and it gets ignored. They make "improvements" to aforementioned questionable changes, pat themselves on the back and ask for feedback again. So I come onto GD and say "hey guys, these changes are pretty significant you should come check them out and use the feedback thread" and it gets a lock. So that's where my irritation is coming from.

Has nothing to do with tin foil hats btw, just a generalized comment on the delicate dance that is forum moderation. One that for the sake of "not discussing moderation" I probably shouldn't have made but hindsight is often 20-20 now isn't it.

Not sure why the original topic was locked tbh. Reminding people to get on Sisi and test stuff is something that should be promoted every now and then, especially as it links into getting people using the new launcher (and hopefully giving feedback on that too).

Go easy on the mods though. They are player volunteers after all moderating what can be a fairly volatile forum in their personal time. There are a couple of newer moderators who seem to lock rather than edit/amend topics - that might be something they could consider more. But if you report locked topics and politely request an unlock I've seen them unlocked occasionally by longer term mods. Sometimes they disregard those requests too, which is their call and fair enough. But if you have an issue with a locked topic, hitting report and explaining why gives them a bit of feedback without having to resort to re-starting it and ranting.

In an instance like that it might have been better to just tweak the title and update the OP with a link to the feedback thread then let it run. You could do that with this topic instead of letting it slide into a row over moderation. Another option with a topic you feel needs some feedback/is being overlooked is to link it in your signature to raise the profile.

Thanks for the reminder though, I've been meaning to post some feedback on the new launcher before trying Sisi - only just got round to trying it recently.

Because...because...oh crap...I can't come up with a good reason.

But I'd hate it if we had no GD.

Again, you're certainly correct. That said, posting a thread and it being insta-locked isn't something I'm particularly used to. I didn't even realize there was a process for having a lock reviewed until it was mentioned here. Smile Now get over there, try out those new features and let CCP and the general community know what you think. Just be sure to use the appropriate feedback thread. Blink

Me too, but I think I'd prefer no GD over a GD that is endlessly neutered and curtailed.

Hell, even non-EVE related threads in OOPE are being locked with the reason given "20. All posts must be related to EVE Online."

Yeah, that locking of threads in OOPE for not being Eve related is stupid, especially when the rules of the OOPE forum say:

2. Unlike all other forums on the website, all posts here do not have to be related to EVE. In fact, they should not be related to EVE. The purpose of this forum is for all posts not related to EVE.

It's happened like that a few times recently.

Confirmed, if nothing else, that will get your thread locked.

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......
