I'm not sure where the best place to ask this question might be...

I had a jump clone with implants installed in station "X", plus I was docked there with implants. I activated my jump clone in station "Y". Now only one clone exists in station "X", and unfortunately all my best implants were in the clone that vanished. Is there a way to get that clone back? If not, is this mechanic working as intended?

There can only be one clone stored at a station. by jumping out of a station that already has a stored clone you are trying to store two. The game will discard one of them.

Working as intended I believe, but as always lodge a petition and see what they say.

Working as intended, and should of given you a warning...

Its been a while but I remember it not being the clearest warning, but it certainly makes it clear that one of you JC's is going to be kaput.

There is no such thing as a fair fight...

If your fighting fair you have automatically put yourself at a disadvantage.

I feel compelled to comment.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

You would have received a warning dialog window telling you one clone would need to be discarded because you can only have 1 jump clone per station.

From memory, that's not a warning dialog you can turn off, so it will appear everytime you try to do that (but I could be wrong and will go double check).

There is no way to recover the clone other than as indicated above, petitioning CCP very politely and explaining that you made a mistake. It's Christmas season, so you might be lucky.

EDIT: Yep, not a warning dialog that you can turn off. This is what you should have received:

You should of Received a Window with a warning that you cannot disable stating that One of your clones will be destroyed.

If you have not, Please file a Support ticket. If You ignored that warning and accepted the clone transfer anyway, then it has done exactly what it was designed to do.

Jump clones are like highlanders when in station together.

There can be only one!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Can confirm this happening, I lost my clone as well.

Ticket filed. I'd do the same if this happens to you.

edit:
GMs did their thing, and checked my logs.
You guys rock.

Hang on, are you saying the warning isn't popping up any more? I don't need even more paranoia

I jump clone quite regularly and was pretty sure I hadn't suppressed the warnings, but I "reset settings" in the settings menu to be sure I wasn't ignoring the warning notifications.

The question isn't whether or not you are paranoid in Eve, it is if you are paranoid enoughBlink
