Brightness of some nebulae, suns and stuff doesn't work well for me with the white bracket text.

I thought the brightness slider would finally solve the one thing that annoyed me sometimes but unfortunately this didn't help.

I already tried adjusting contrast and brightness on my hardware but no matter what I try there are some regions where just can't see ****.

(might be just a problem with my eyes or hardware)

Suggestion: Add the black box background to all brackets not only if there is more than one bracket under your cursor (with the corresponding option).

(Alternatively, reduce brightness/whiteness of certain nebulae)

I agree that some nebula are so bright that they would function as a second sun for the entire region and anyone who lived on those planets would never see a dark night while either the sun or nebula is up.

That looks like you got the brightness slider to the max.

Did you change settings on your screen, or in your gfx driver?

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Brightness slider was just slightly darker than default value. Completely dark doesn't look so good.

Screen, gfx card, etc. are more or less default values (at least I didn't change anything besides choosing a preconfigured profile that gave me the best contrast and colours).
