CCP can we please look at the possibility of a) increasing or removing the lock range cap these days and b) have a long hard look at on grid probing.

For clarity I do not wish to see any module changes - there are already a good number of hulls able to breach the 250km limit easily today. In the future we could have things like long range dreads (oh man, that would be cool and if carriers get to sit miles away, if I should be so crazy I should be allowed to load spike into a rail moros and hail fire on them from long distances) and citadels themselves would be much neater if they could actually threaten a decent chunk of their grid space.

On grid probing is highly contentious and I'm open to debate on that one, I just feel like if we have these giant grids it would be cool to actually use them. To allow strategic positioning to hold value, to reward that kamikaze interceptor flying into the enemy fleet to give a warp in as opposed to the "warp to magic cloaked prober" meta.



NB: If the legacy code renders this impossible still, please let us know so I can stop being hopeful Smile

Sniping someone at 400km and warping off isn't fun or engaging. It just promotes the current kitey alpha hoo haw and risk aversion in general. Especially with the warp bubble dessies. At least let that settle out before you bring this up.

-1 because what you want doesn't add fun or interest to the game.

They already said that the lock range cap will be increasing/be removed/something to that effect, at least with respect to Citadels and Cap ships.

Well, it probably won't actually be happening until Citadel, I would guess.

That's fine, it would be around the caps time I really expected it (I couldn't imagine them letting carriers sit miles away, immune to return fire from dreads etc.
