I understand the mechanic of blocking actions while being cloaked. However, is there a reason why we are blocked from docking/jumping if we are in range but still cloaked, other than just a blunt line of code that prevents everything? I wonder how difficult this would be to improve... ?

With the latest changes to allow docking/jumping from large distance (which provokes warping) and proceed when in range, I believe this mechanic should be updated. When ordering your ship to dock/jump, it should not "fail" to do so, and should simply de-clock and proceed with the action. Currently, it randomly fails because the ship doesn't always warp/approach close enough before it tries to dock/jump. It makes it inconsistent.

Of course, any other action such as activating a module, scanning, etc., should still be blocked, and the warning message that you fail to do so because you are cloaked shall remain in all these other cases.

But seriously, telling me that I can't dock/jump because I'm cloaked is just plain annoying and doesn't prevent any exploits.

This is related to the whole "unreliable warp-in distance" thing. Same issue as landing at 2550m and not being able to jump.

The Dock and Jump buttons could use a bit more work to handle edge cases like this.

Warping to a gate in cloak:
Dropping out of warp more than 1.500 km from the gate -> gate uncloaks me, no jump. Cloakfail.
Dropping out of warp less than 1.500 km / or in in the gate -> jump (gate uncloaks me. jump works)

What never works:
Jump through a gate -> then reaproach the same gate you just jumped through (push jump button on gate, then activate cloak) - always fails to jump because of cloak.

Haven't tried with stations. But I guess there are some bumps, too.

Question... you want to dock but you are cloaked... how can the station see you, lock you, and tow you in?

I can't think of a situation where I would want to be informed that I can't leave a starsystem because I am cloaked, just decloak me and jump instead of throwing up that warning.

This game is full of warnings and notifications informing you about why you can't do something, instead of the game just DOING the thing you're being warned about.

Happens to me 10x per day.

You can even lose your ship because of this. If you are cloaked and choose to dock at a station, sometimes it drops you 2200 from the station, throws this warning message "cannot dock because you are cloaked", and then your ship drifts to within 2000m of the station and uncloaks you! But you still don't dock! So now you are in the kitchen making a sandwich thinking you are docked whilst pirates are doing unspeakable things to your buzzard. FIX THIS PLEASE

It doesn't matter, it would be your ship's behavior to uncloak before sending the signal to dock/jump. i.e. it should decloak itself (and network lag should not interfer with this mechanic, you will get docked/jumped whatsoever).

Just got my first transport ship, and yes, this is still happening and still highly annoying

Perhaps this could make it for the next expansion please?
