Call the new ice exploration frigate the Hekla

Or its anglicisation 'Hecla'.

After the icelandic volcano* and which gave its name to a ship class frequently used in polar exploration and surveying (and hence several locations around Canada). The explorer William Parry famously set a record for 'furthest north' which stood for about 50 years whilst aboard the HMS Hecla , and the doomed Franklin expedition was aboard two hecla-class ships (HMS Erebus and HMS Terror).

Oddly, upon checking the spelling variants, the first entry on google for 'hecla' turns up a mining company - even better.

'Endurance' is a bit too generic.

*note to icelandic head of volcano naming: that's how it's done. 'Eyjafjallajökull' - what the heck!?

Eyjafjallajökull is not the volcano itself (its name is Eyjafjöll) but its the ice cap that sits on top of the volcano, as Mýrdalsjökull sits atop a volcano called Katla.*

Also, the Icelanders are Modern Vikings (albeit with less pillaging as of late), with a language which has barely changed in 1200 years.

The new ice mining frigate will have 3 high slots, and will be able to " fit one of three new frigate sized Ice Mining Lasers". Half Life 3 confirmed.

I liked "discovery" better than "endurance". And for me it looks more like a frigate sized Ore and Ice hauler.

pack it up with compressed bistot and off you go to jita in frigate speed
