Same problem here.

I created a bug report, which has basically been dismissed and closed. So I've added a comment to it just now, hopefully explaining it a bit cleared. As far as I can see I'm approximately 16650 SP short or as stated above it has had no effect.

Are these comments viewed and replied to in bug reports or should I create another report ?

In addition to some of the other known issues with the scanning changes, I'd like to reiterate that something needs to be done to enhance the signature icons during probing. They're too small and not brightly colored enough to easily stand out among the new interface. I'm finding myself struggling to find where to focus my next scan.

Also, for me the scan result list has lost some visual efficiency. The large colored bar we had previously left no doubt where the status of sig scanning was at and which sig it was related to. Now, the tiny colored line takes some additional effort to visually parse the list instead of the briefest glance it took before.

Standard sleeper caches no longer work properly. In particular the random security alarm no longer drops from the furthest container and the immobile tractor beam no longer does anything when hacked. All messages related to the standard sleeper cache no longer appear in local either.

Quick feedback on my original issue with the super laggy map.

Since the latest patch today everything is back to normal and works good. Scanned down a w-hole while warping around and there was no issue.
Warped around while looking on the whole map, zoomed in/out and no issue.

Some further testing will be done but so far everything looks pretty good. Well done CCP, well done! Smile

We're actually implementing the first change for sure :)

Scan result list, we are going to take a second pass at it, but as stated earlier, not in this release cycle (almost certainly the next one)

Prior I could use a ehm, pincer-movement (two fingers coming together). If I do that now, the scan probes go closer together.

Now I have to make a two-finger movement first spreading the fingers with lots of feeling (to get into the zoom-"menu", I guess) and then pince them together again. However, that does not work consistently, so it's a hassle. It may be that I could somewhere somehow change something that makes it workable again, alas...

It just should be the other way round. The usual two-fingers-coming-together for zooming and the more complex gesture (which I could not yet find out what the exact difference actually is) in order to spread or tighten the scan probes.


Very interesting! Do you know if this gesture is specific to Lenovo laptops? I have been hitherto unaware of it, but I don't often use laptops.


I unfortunately have no idea as I'm using Lenovo exclusively since I have kids (they are robust! physically)

will check further possibilities of configuring the touchpad asap and let you know if the solution is there.

I finally got it working, but here was my experience:

I paused training on this character to train an alt. On the alt, it kept saying all skill training slots were being used and kept recommending I buy additional training slots. Tried many things, but at the bottom I've underlined what worked for me so that I could train on my alt.

So... this was SO VERY FRUSTRATING! Losing training time is just a peeve of mine... But the fact that it wasn't working on multiple computers made it infuriating. I have the highest respect for Eve and the developers, so I'm not holding it against them. I'm just voicing my experience and trying to help as best I can.


  • Paused this character's training and X'd out of training window (made sure it was paused before doing so)
  • X'd out Eve window
  • Used same launcher to launch Eve (didn't have to login again)

  • On alt, clicked on training bar beneath character picture
  • Training window said all training slots full, dismissed advertisement
  • Added new skill (Gallente Industrial 3) to top of queue via drag and drop to top of queue
  • Selected apply, got advertisement for additional training slots, dismissed advertisement, still wasn't training and new skill wasn't in queue.
  • Added new skill, clicked apply, got advertisement for additional training slots, dismissed advertisement, still wasn't training.
  • Added new skill, clicked X, asked if I wanted to save/apply, clicked yes, got advertisement for additional training slots, dismissed advertisement, still wasn't training.
  • X'd out of training window

Successfully started the multi character training, without my support tick acknowledged, wondering if I'll be reimbursed real money that I paid for the 1.5 days lost or some other solution re skill points?

I recommend removing Probes from your Markers list in the top left of the window. You can still manipulate the probes as you could before.


Have you considered that if people are widely complaining about something and you yourself had to workaround it by changing your settings in a way that reduces functionality, it is in fact a genuine issue that needs to be addressed, not a problem with the user's settings? This would be completely resolved by giving probe controls absolute priority for hovering and clicking. Ignore all markers under the probe controls (still display them, but no tooltips or ability to select them),

On another note, I feel like the dscan camera lock could use a hotkey, and the menu bar is too thick. It's thicker than the gap that windows snap to near the edge of the screen to allow off camera brackets to show, so the title bars of other windows can get in the way of operating the menu in full screen mode.

Further testing shed more light on the original issue though. Shortly after wrote my "everything is fine post" things got laggy again on the map. But this time I knew that it worked before so I spent more time to pinpoint it down and try to understand what the issue is connected to. It worked out that there were too many objects on the starmap. The system map is not affected by the issue anymore but the starmap in my case doesn´t work when I have all my objects enabled. When I filter out my personal locations and the stations it seems to work good. But I ended up filtering everything out since I don´t need most of the things on starmap or to say it a little different, I can fly without them for now. This was the only work around I found so far but it´s no big deal to actually use the beta map without any objects in space since I mostly use it to travel and look up some basic statistics and last but not least it´s a beta map. I am not sure why all of a sudden the starmap isn´t working like before but as long as it will get fixed along the road I am totally fine with the workaround.
