The rules from C&P say we cannot post embarassing killmails and cannot link to other sites.

Quote:
Before posting in the Crime & Punishment forum, we ask that you please take a look at the following rules:

Killmails

The posting of killmails is permitted, however following criteria must be met:

a) The name of the victim must be removed or covered up
b) The killmail must be posted along with constructive text/content. This means no posting new threads with simply a killmail in it without a comment.
c) The killmail must be posted directly into the post and may not be a link to a third-party site.

The reason behind these rules was a spate of threads seeking to embarrass other players, such as those with poor set-ups.

Killmails are not supported by us and given the ease of forgery, threads with killmails in them tended to descend into arguments about the veracity of them.

To foster a better community spirit, killmails will be removed from any post that do not follow the above rules.

The CCP facebook page

has just announced

Every week we're going to highlight a particularly juicy killmail. If you'd like to see a particular killmail get mentioned, reply here. Doesn't have to be a recent one, nor do you have to be involved--we just want to know someone involved once shed some tasty tasty tears.

I won't post the killmail, but it is the one where the orphanage killed that kestral full of plex and non of it dropped...

Surely this is a double standard as this killmail has been linked to all followers of the eve facebook page. And yes - I do know that it was done on FB, not the fourms so technically they haven't broken the C&P rules...

It's really funny and refreshing to see CCP using words like "tasty tasty tears" when it's them that are dumbing down the game with every expansion. At least if they added content it would be less painful.

I've had couple mails/battle reports lined and they didn't get removed.

Rules kind of say that if it's not troll, bait, grief, abuse or something - it's kind of legit, and now when you got api verified stamp, why not?

Anyway if your killmail only drives thread into failthread about failfit - you should not have posted it.

if killmail shows that someone was avoiding mineral reprocess fee's or something of that sort - I think it's THAT bad.

Sometimes I wished I worked at CCP

Look at this bitching, whining and crying over EVERY. SINGLE. FRACKING. THING.

Their tear harvesters must be in perpetual overdrive

Indeed. CCP seems to be masters of that particular game

The rules state: no killmails on the forums. CCP is posting killmails on a Facebook page where you have to subscribe to the feed to see the killmails (i.e.: "like"ing their Facebook account). There is no double standard here.

There is nothing stopping you from linking killmails on Facebook too! Please, knock yourself out!

In the meantime, killmails on the forums would invite all kinds of stupidity to come crawling out of the woodwork.

Crime and Punishment Rules Thread

Killmails are permitted in the appropriate forum sections and in the right context for that forum section. Killmails posted just to say "I haz killed u trolololol" and messages with similar content/meaning no matter how well or bad the post is written is not allowed.

I did kind of mention that is my original post...

The point was to make light of the irony of the situation. Is do as I say, not as I do anything like judging the players on their actions rather then their forum rants??? Roll
