As lovely as the Industry interface is now, it demands a lot of resources. Likely more than most other UI windows, save Fitting.
Industry is filled to the brim with animations, sound effects, and 3D rendering. None of this is necessary feedback for experienced industrialists to do their work, and unlike most quality settings that affect the client level of detail in space or in station, there is as yet no checkbox to disable these effects. Understandably it could take a fair amount of work to accomplish this and verify that no functionality is lost. Likely far from a Little Thing.

A checkbox to disable these effects is a fair feature request. Personally I have an older laptop that is relegated to simple hauling and in-station tasks. It's very convenient to putter/idle/chat in the game when I'm not at my desktop machine. Doing industry in-station makes my client lag almost as badly as undocking.

Regardless of horsepower, client performance can always be improved. If the Market window had this much pizzaz, and a 3D render of an object popped up every time its market order was edited, there might be pitchforks and window eggings. Every single click in the Industry window makes something move and chirp.

+1 to that. I tend to use an old eeepc (custom lightweigth unix with wine) when updating market orders while on the move, and it is not even possible to open the industry window without it almost crashing. Of course, that rig may be (a little bit) under minimal requirements, but it pretty much does everything except industry, and fleet-fights. Which is somehow disturbing.

EDIT: The fact that the industry window does not fit into such a small display is also a problem, but should we get a new industry window without the big enormous hud, it should scale correctly and be resizable. Or i at least hope so.

Please this window lags my game and if I'm out using my laptop it has even caused a few crashes yet the rest of the game ruins fine
