Other than maybe art, why not just release this ship (and corresponding modules) at the next update?

How many shattered wormholes are there anyway?

I found it. 100 total, but only 25 of them are small ship holes. So hull specially designed for 25 systems?

OT: can we have more range on gas cloud harverster? (and some animation too, maybe like new salvager one?)

No I could see this being used in low and a good deal in null mainly by what corps that want to make fuel without importing (larger groups probably will not use it)

This is why I feel giving it the ability to be blops bridged would open it up to more people but I'm not sure ccp would be willing to do that on a ship with no covet ops cloak and I would not give on to this ship

Funny name btw: Discovery. Like exploration ship.
It will be based on Venture hull? Same as Prospect?

We have to assume that's the case for now. There no new ship model as of yet (but also no new shaders for the prospect hull) and the current model is just a placeholder

Note: you can hauling 36m tritanium in Discovery ore hold from highsec to nullsec (all5 skills).

Ore Holds can't hold minerals.

Ore holds can hold compressed ore. Compressed veldspar > reprocess > tritanium

Please correct me when I made mistakes anywhere here:

Ice mining cycle is 330secs x 0.5 role x (0.75 (mining frig) x 0.75 (ice mining skill), for 93secs rounded total cycle time per 1k block. Then adding three Icing lows puts them to 70secs.

Is the ice mining rig intentionally left out (61sec cycle time) to increase the yield difference to a procurer (49sec)?

I put up some math on the previous page if you want to see a maxed out Discovery versus and maxed out Procurer. You're missing implants and the expedition frigate bonuses.
And yes we don't plan on making a small ice mining rig.

What about small gas harvesting rig?

I would like to request that the requirement of having a turret slot be removed from both the new ice mining lasers and the old mining lasers. It is discriminatory towards the Caldari who use mostly missile based ships and as a result are unable to mine in many of these ships. The ability to fit mining lasers on these ships will result in new and emergent game play such as Leviathan mining that will surely create PVP content for all.

Thanks

Caldari have access to enough ships with turrets, removing the need for turret hardpoints would do more harm than good.

Without the need for a turret hardpoint for mining laser or the new ice mining laser the mining frigates have to be rebalanced (nerfed) with using all high slots for mining lasers. Venture/Prospect would get +50% yield (3 high vs 2 hardpoints) and would need to loos alot of its mining bonus to stay at the same yield with 1 extra miner (loose utility high)

Thank you for missing the whole point of my post asking for the ability to fit mining lasers on the Leviathan.

I refuse to accept this unacceptable racial discrimination against Caldari pilots that want to use their titans to mine ore/ice/gas.

The specialized mining rigs only exist as a holdover from previous Mining Barge designs. A little while ago they were all specialized for one type of mining. When that was removed, the rigs were added to keep similar mining rates without having the bonuses be on the ships. Since the Prospect and Discovery are already bonused toward certain types of mining, a rig bonus would be somewhat redundant.

Any particular reason you are making frigates specialized like how the old barges were? Barges now you kinda have to decide between yield, cargo, or tank. But frigs you kind of get forced into what you fly by what you're mining based on the bonuses

people seem to think that w/o a cov ops cloak this thing is screwed

with the cloak bonus it does get it will be able to get to warp speed de-cloak and run similar to a BLOPs

is it as easy on the pilot? no does it lower the risk on a pilot who knows what they are doing? yes

only thing extra i could see this thing needing a the ability to be bridged

but i'm sure it will be used even w/o that my guys will just stick with the prospect if that's the case

its still a choice just based on different things

if i go ice mining it is still safer that i do it in a prospect but i could do it faster in the discovery

its just more nice

Yield is already covered by Hulk, Ore bay is covered by Mackinaw and EHP is covered by Skiff (including their t1 variants)

How do you balance 2-3 smaller/cheaper ships around the same metrics without them being useless or OP? Find new ways to balance them (diffrent roles).
