Tech3 Frigates/ Corvettes

XS ships or Extra small ships, Corvettes.

Access: Tech III Frigates

1. Role Bonus:

-Type I Corvette:

--500% Damage to Drones.

-Type II Corvette:

--24.6 AU range of D-Scan.

2. All factions Type 1 Corvettes: (adapt the damage to each faction specialization) (factions Amarr, Gallente, Caldari, Minmatar)

-Considerations: Deal massive Damage to Drones. Dimension XS (Extra Small between 30 and 50m the bigest). XS or Micro modules usage, extremely fast 0% CPU usage and 95% reduction of powergrid usage with microwarpdrives size XS. Adapt energy, Capacitor and CPU to XS or extra Small ships. New Turrets size Micro devastating with drones with extreme traking they should be like machinegun nest with an spectacular effects of beams, lasers or projectiles all arround. Very low defense against ships attack (could be shoot down with 1 or a few shoots but difficult to hit, addapt signature radius) very fast. Short range ships with enougth speed to try to hit Drones.

-Fittings: (it's general, could vary depend on race, just a general idea)

-- High: 8 XS or micro turrets nests against Drones (they are the space death of drones, but deal very few damage to ships.

--Medium: 2 XS or micro size slots (using XS microwarpdrive) .

--Low: 2 XS or micro size slots (new modules to improve accuracy and damage of micro turret nests against drones).

--Rigs: 1 XS size rig, 100 Calibration.

3. All Faction Type 2 Corvettes (see paragraph 2 with general specifications)

-Considetations: D-Scan specialized ship, automated D-Scan button, medium speed, very weak, can see the distance of everything on D-Scan. Could use any improved cloacking speed with only 45% of speed penality, cannot use Cover ops if it uses improved cloacking device loses D-Scan bonus), very low signature radius like types 1

-Fittings(could vary depend on race)

--High: 2 XS slots, against drones but ineffective against bigger ships.

--Medium: 2 XS micro size slots.

--Low: 2 XS micro size slots.

--Rigs: 1 XS size rig, 100 Calibration.

Thanks for your time, I know that you are very busy with the new features incoming on the next months but Corvettes size ships specialized in Scan and anti-Drones in game could be fantastic.

So basicly a extra small frigate with damage bonus vs drones plus 2x d-scan range? Sounds like a pilotable fighter to me.

Also Extra-Small rigs and modules? No thanks.

Too many new things in this. new ship class, new module class and rework of d-scan system.

You are right add a little bit of size and mass 60-70 m.

Actually there are no a reallistic and quite efficient systems to stop drones that could exist in that universe prefectly, only the action of other drones could be effective, Corvettes could be a good and confortable option to kill drones, it could become a new style of play for gamers or drone site annihilators.

The main problem of the concept is for me that it will be very unfun to be the poor bastard in the fleet who has to chase drones across the battlefield while his fleetmates have some good pvp against REAL playerships.

If there has to be an anti-drone weapon, it would be better to change the Defender missiles into an fof-antidrone system. And give a 5% / Level bonus to the T1 destroyerhulls allready in game.

I personaly don't see that much need for it, there are already counters for drones as web/shooting, smartbombing, etc in the game.

Maybe the turret nest could be automatic like a damage area effect with a visual laser, blaster or projectiles storm, similar to smart bombs but more focused in dealing damage to fighters and drones. The more turrets the corvette has the more damage is done to drones, with little damage to bigger ships.

This ships need agility from the commander and intensive skills training in all those skills.

Every ship have a function and is a part of the strategy engine. Mining is boring but necessary...

Every ship have a function, in ships as logistics they could give repair and boost shields all depends on the person who command them, for me for example logistics are necessary but boring. that doesnt mean that logistics must dissapear from game.
