Are you referring to me?

This is the only character Ive ever posted on, and unfortunately, also my main.

Ive no interest in leaving, though I had to take a years break due to IRL, nothing to do with the game itself.
Im enjoying the game immensely atm and glad its still here for me to return to.
Its a huge relief away from my studies and frankly I cant afford either the time, expense or hangover of going out.

Thankfully I had an isk reserve sufficient to PLEX my accounts for a few months while I re-align my activities.
Its hard and Im barely scraping by, but as I said in my initial post, I accept the challenge.
I am doing my best to adapt.
Hopefully I will in 2 months have made enough to additionally multitrain a second character on an account for a month, for more options and content in EVE.

I do remember the E1 fiasco.
Im quite proud of my contribution to the resolution of that, and stand behind it.
It was a cancer. Id attack it and kill it like chemo all over again if it raises its head.

I dont even remember who Serene is/was.
You are being, well, paranoid, loyd.

The leaving and return of you and another big mouth coincides a little too closely to simply be coincidence. But go ahead and continue to deny it.

I said of him

bonus points if you remember why i said it

I even look like my main avatar (or alteast try to):
http://oi59.tinypic.com/5fp7yv.jpg

Im quite big on internet transparency, and where this any other game and community, Id readily give out my name and address.

In EVE, though, this is somewhat problematic, for reasons understandable (and yet ironic, since so many meet each other at fests (which I hope to attend some year) and are public figures).

I dont expect the same transparency from others. My ethics related to that only apply to myself.

I assure you, Im the real deal.
I do not, and have not, posted here with any other account.

Now can we return to my topic, please?

Honestly, does it really matter? Anything said at this point is just more grist for an already impossibly congested mill.

Wow, look. Someone posts a topic on GD so the residents tear him limb from limb based upon identity, suspected alts and previous posts. Rather than reading and replying to the topic.

And you wonder why this forum is dead

Perhaps one day yet we shall meet and drink a few, and talk EVE IRL.

Would do. Gladly.

Unfortunately, some are antagonistic to this kind of IRL connection to the game of its community of players.
One example being a particular person in this very thread who tried threatening a year ago to report me to local authorities for impersonating a qualified lawyer, which was false, as I never did so. Thats how deep some of the cancer has set here, unfortunately.

By, not incidentally, also a person who enjoyed, supported and defended the sociopathic cancer of the E1 arena.

In other news a prominent EVE player/streamer got swatted a few weeks back.

Im sure other prominent and IRL recognisable persons get griefed all the time, such as CSM and CCP staff.
No doubt even Mittani has to deal with this ****.

Seems some people have difficulty understanding the difference between a game and real life.

Anyways topic:

I am EVE +.

Anyone else?

Out of curiousity.. how many skill points are we talking about where you feel things are well built.. and are you still flying just one set of racial ships, or more than one? Given the incredibly complex nature of Eve.. what you think is 'freeing' may not

Idk. I rather enjoyed the OP, but I didn't find much in it to respond to. More so with Kaarous' horrible joke.

My favourite troll, makes grown men scream. Also his kb nearly made me choke to death. Might bounty him again.

What difference does it make though? I have a fair idea of who loads of alt posters are, and their alts. Rarely get trolled by any of them tbh (although it's nice that they make the effort).

Tippia I PM'd, Ralph I didn't. Interesting.

After reading that thread you linked I see very similar traits in the way arguments are formed and it almost seems formulaic the way they are polar opposites.

Marsha Mallow wrote:

It doesn't make any difference. I just wanted to see if others thought the same thing I did. At least one other person does in his words, "I thought it was obvious". Is that proof? No. But this little back and forth has taught me many things about many people. It wasn't necessarily all about calling Salvos out.

Good question.

Im not well built. Lot of "wasted" SP. But Ive finally got most of the basics down that apply to flying most ships well, and managed to specialize in some hull classes, per account. Result of that, is its now much less effort for me to cross-train into other races hulls, especially in t2 hulls of those classes.

Different weapon types are now my biggest hurdle. Missiles in particular help here, as do drones, as a bridge to other race hulls.
Armor/shield therafter.

There are many categories like interdictors, logi and ECM that would require substantial training beyond the hull type and the basics, in completely different directions. T2 BCs are also very time intensive (strange class). I cant speak to BS< hulls at all. Not to mention mining types (which I have little interest in).

Infact the more I write here, the more I realize how much more there is that I cant do yet!

I guess my point boils down to that once youve got the basic flight skills, armor/shield, and some hull class specialisation down, more options become commensurately available, than before.

If I manage to multitrain another character, I will be far more deliberate and specific in its training, because I now understand better what skills are more or less universal. Also because I have other existing characters, I can tailor the new ones specialties to synegize well with that which the others need/lack.

As to industry/research/PI/trade characters, with their own extremely specialised non-ship skills, this is not something Im experienced in.
Id however expect that in those as well, once you pass an ambiguous SP benchmark, you start getting greater commensurate rewards at equal effort, with greater efficiency. That, and the SP base starts to allow you more opportunities and even more importantly, to become more creative with how you apply them to the sandbox.

I don't know if I need beer and popcorn, or tea and crumpets for this thread.

EDIT: Nevermind. The answer is obviously beer and crumpets.

Grrr.
