Dust / Eve interaction

My goal here is to greatly improve the eve/dust interaction in a fairly easily developed method (or so I think, lol)

Right, one of the first ideas me and others had and wanted to see was dust interaction with planetary interation....
particularly PvE raids that steal small portions of the goodies inside per raid,... and yes! I do planetary interation.
So first up on eve side we get a simple little grid screen where we can setup the internal defences of our PI storage, guns and lazer turrets initially to keep things dead simple.
So you'll get this kind of thing

behold!

▒ = Wall
░ = floor
T = Projectile gun
L = Laser
█ = Door
★ = PI Goodies

║▒░░░ █░T▒L░★▒T░░█║ <- dusties go in here

edits and re-edits!!!...ok...there is no rescuing this thing...
but there! thats sort of it!

Now in my brain that can be passed to the play stations easily enough, which then uses it set standard map blocks (which you have to make with designers and dev teams and all that..cough!) but once thats done then the PS3 simply assembles the map and gives the dusties a maybe even existing terrain with a single building with one door, an a couple of auto turrety things outside to make it interesting...
When they fight their way inside they need to beat our little maps which rewards them with PI which they can, for instance, sell back to us for a CCP set amount, to block the inevitable ISK flood from eve.
And initially we can just get a basic report on what went missing.

I would eventually want to see a playback of how they beat the map, but that can be for later.
the defences obviously have to be very effective...these are players after all, they will work out ways to beat things, dont want them soloing our PI bases.

Probably best if this is initially limited to basic items, but personally I would open it up.
just keep it a small percentage with like a 24 hour timer on each installation they hit
hell, even just my PI will keep them busy for a while...

that finally opens the door to enabling the thing I hear often from them, actually affecting the EVE economy in some way.

Do you want awesome? or do you want to hide all your PI goodies away like ninnys!? WHAT SAY YOU???

So how do you decide who gets their stuff stolen?

If there are ten guys with PI setups on a particular planet, who loses the stuff?

There is no mechanic in EVE that cannot be countered by doing something else in EVE. Why, exactly, should it be possible for someone playing an entirely different game to steal my stuff, and there be absolutely nothing I can do to actively prevent this from happening?

Inb4 hire better dust mercs to protect your stuff.....

Seems to be the usual answer to most eve/dust integration ideas. Relying on total strangers to handle your stuff at additional costs to upkeep on your eve stuff....whats not to like about this Roll.

And my usual lets not hand over more of the game to the something awful/reddit/etc crews. My usual rant...its the multigame crews who'd make out out from this real good. Some crews in eve...this is all they do. Not saying either way is good or bad ofc....I think its kind of cool an eve goon can find another home in another game subsection of something awful when the time comes. Is this for everyone though? No.
