The Disciples of Ston would like to thank the generous pilot who has donated a large shipment of consumer electronics for use in our Matriculation Centers. These can be useful for education as well as for diversion. Your generosity is much appreciated.

Two rescues to report:
One occurred yesterday and was out of a blued can. 41 people were rescued and brought to Center #3. The second occurred today with a rescue of 39 people. All are safe and sound and receiving necessary care, nutrition and medical evaluations. Interviews and psychological evaluations continue in the days ahead.

Wall of Shame:

Krenthic 41 lives (blue can)

ReceiverAL 39

I note when a blue can situation occurs because it says a couple things. First, the pilot is somewhat less despicable than others who jet can people and keep their claim on the can until the death of the occupants. Second, the blue can invites rescue, yet most pilots pass it by and won't take the time from their pursuits of profits, war, and whatever else to aid a fellow human being. Sad.

In recent days martriculation center #4 has been seeing the spread of a virus or disease. Several of the most recent arrivals have come down with the illness. I suspect that they were already sick at the time of their retreival from the jetcan. We are treating them, and taking steps to ensure that the illness does not spread to the others here at the center. Treatment has meant that we have been using a larger amount of water for both sanitation as well as hydration of the sick.

Depending on how things progress we may need to consider temporarily closing Centre 4 to new arrivals, I am prepared to setup an alternate site in the same system to take in any new arrivals. What we need though is biofuels and electrolytes to help develop medicines for the victims.

380,000 liters of water have just been delivered from Center #1 to Center #4. Our water production is in surplus. I have messaged Edaine about the need in your center. Watch your contracts for biofuels from Center #2.

Edit: Also 1000 liters of anti-biotics have been delivered to our fresh water depot. I noticed that there is ample water there too. Feel free to take what you need for Center #4

This is a sad report, no one likes to hear of innocent people suffering. What is more distressing is how ill-equipped your centres are to deal with even a small outbreak of disease. I would like to offer you assistance, I would be willing to relocate the sick individuals and have them transfered to one of my facilities where they can receive modern medical treatment. While I'm sure that your voodoo and leaches work for some, the miracles of modern medical drones and nano-treatments are truely amazing.

Sometimes the cost of being consistent in your values is the need to make difficult decisions that enable others to be free. The Disciples of Ston have told the residents of our centers that they are free to go elsewhere if they choose. We do not just say this. We make them aware of other offers. Mr. Ranshad recently criticized the medical care at our facilities and offered to our residents what he believes are better facilities under his care.

While we strongly oppose what Mr. Ranshad stands for and do not believe it is in the best interests of our residents to return to slavery, we will not interfere with the self-determination of those we rescue, even if they wish to return under a holder. I believe our medical facilities are top notch and we do not use leeches and voodoo as accused. However, our residents do need to know that they have other options if they think we are failing in this area. We have had to do this before and we will continue to make these offers available to the residents.

We have presented Ranshad’s offer to the residents of Center #3 and I will be sending a note to the other Disciples encouraging them to do the same. Should any of our residents choose to do do, we will transport them to the Ranshad facility and transfer “care” to Mr. Ranshad.

We are providing the public copy of Ranshad’s profile as well as his IGS postings to the residents for their independent evaluation. We will report here the results of the offer.

In societies that are free, people are also free to make poor decisions and even those which they may regret in the future. While we will help our residents to make an informed decision, we will not make the decision for them. They must be free to do that.

Mr. Ranshad, I will be sending you a notice requesting coordinates to your facilities should any wish to take you up on your offer.

3 happy people walked off my salvager and onto the receiving Center of M-Center #2 today. I found them in a death can. The crew of this ship shares duties on my other vessels and have done rescues before.

We all hope that the people of Center #4 get well soon. Gladius has had a chance to review the issue and has posted Ran'shad's offer on our public notice system here. The more I work with the Elders, the more I respect their restraint, self-control, and integrity.

Blue can rescue today: 49 lives saved and brought in safe and sound to Center #2. The elders have instructed the medical staff to be extra careful in their screenings of those brought in considering the issues in Center #4. Ta Pang, I was wondering if others aboard the station where your Center is located have been ill. That might shed some light on things. If I remember right, the station administration where you are should be a helpful group of people to work with.

And

We would like to thank Nathan Allen Bishop of the 24th Imperial Crusade [IC24] for the generous "donation" *ahem* of 3,028,600 liters of water to the Disciples of Ston for our residents in the Matriculation Centers. Your "generosity" is appreciated.

Yes, thank you Edaine. I have been speaking with the medical staff here as well as the station administration. They have been quite sympathetic and have offered a little bit of assistance. However it seems as though they are facing issues of their own, staffing shortfall in their medical centre as well an increased demand on those personnel they do have. Frankly I have gotten the feeling that their cheif doctor is more sympathetic to the former masters than the freed slaves suffering of disease.

As for the offer of Ranshad, the elders here at centre 4 have informed me that they have 3 individuals who wish to accept the offered help. I will contact Ranshad, though I suspect that he monitors this channel, and make the arrangements.

Disciple Ta Pang,
Thank you for handling this transfer. This is perhaps the hardest part of our work, but to honor the self-determination of these three is a true test of our integrity. I do not know how this will be "spun" in the community. The important part is to keep up the work or rescuing those in need.

Let me know how it all goes. If you need any help, just Holler.

I was anxious to make a quick jump out to Egbinger to check on the progress there but forgot to report a rescue last night of 3 from a death can. It is interesting that three are leaving us while three others have just joined us.

The writing of this post took place while scanning in 0.0 for a wormhole. In the process my ship and pod were destroyed. The ship was gift too. I had it less than a day. Note to self: from now on, only use cloaked vessels when scanning in null sec.

In other news: I have hired a group of five medical scientists to help us improve our medical facilities. Each center will get one of these scientists assigned to review and oversee our medical facilities. The fifth is a supervisor over the whole program and she will be stationed at Center #3.

It was a good day to start fresh for 39 people left to die by a capsuleer pilot who calls himself Scrankee. I and my crew brought these people back to Center #3 with greater confidence than ever before. Our Medical consulting experts are in place in each of our centers and we are pleased with the reports. There are no major problems. The consulting group supervisor said that with a program such as ours where you are bringing in former slaves from parts unknown, there are inevitable risks. One particular risk is that the Amarr are continually engaged in bio-experiments on their slaves to develop resistant strains of vitoxin that only they have the antidote for. This research involves many viral agents and many contagens reside in experiment subjects for many years. Some may be dormant and only activate much later. We interview all the Matriculants, but most if not all who were subject to bio-experiments were not informed that whey were lab rats at the time.

Our Medical consultants are instituting a few new screening procedures and providing training for our M-Center medical teams on what to watch for.

Both the Vocational Center and Academic Center are completing their first full term and will be starting the second. We have new students and instructors ready f or transport soon. I will take care of this when I am able to pilot the Redemption after a major blunder on my part that resulted in the loss of over seven days of skill training after failing to instruct the clone facility to upgrade my clone after mishaps near Egbinger. My apologies to those who are anxious to get settled in to the new term in Korama.

We also have staff and faculty ready to head to the branch in Egbinger. That trip will need to be carefully planned to avoid unnecessary dangers.

RESCUE WORK SLOWED

Rescue work has slowed way down. Optimistically, this is because fewer people are being dumped into space to die. Pessimistically it is because we are missing those who need rescue and not patrolling at the right place and time. Manwe and I are both on duty in rescue ops right now and will just keep our eyes open.

Three souls were rescued from a death can this morning. It has been many days since we we have rescued anyone. The reason for this is unclear, but I suspect that there are others whom we are not aware that are also "rescuing" slaves. Yesterday, I was approaching a "blue" can which usually means abandoned slaves at this particular location. Before I could reach the can and rescue to scan it, it was tractored by another ship and they took the contents. We will likely never know what was in it or if people were rescued.

We welcome all pilots to rescue those abandoned in space, but we grieve for those who are returned to slavery. As always, we are glad to take any who wish to come into our Matriculation Centers.

Another 69 were rescued a few hours after the first rescue this morning. There does not seem to be a predictable patter as to when the death cans show up. I never tire of seeing the reaction of the rescued former slaves when at the exit ramp they are greeted by the Elders and their other Matari brothers and sisters, tribesmen and tribeswomen. It is an amazing gestalt that has been crying for completion for centuries of institutionalized slavery. Slavery via the worst of all justifications; religion.

If there are eternal truths contained within the revelations and practices of Amarrian religion, they will never be seen so long as the same religion is used to perpetuate such unholy injustice.

One of those rescued today is Vitoc dependent. She has been brought to our med center for immediate treatment.

Another 21 people were rescued today, adding more to Center #1. The Center staff has been busy and the Medical Center staff in particular has been very thorough considering the incident at Center #4. The new medical advisor staff has been a great help in showing us what we are doing right and what we can improve.

This New year has begun with the rescue of 34 people left to die at a crossing between Amarrian and Caldari space. I witnessed the jettison myself and immediatley approached the container. The pilot, who was still nearby, did have the decency to blue the container. A happy new year or should I say happy new life to 34 former captives.
