This is just to inform you that after having downloaded El Capitan Eve Online does not work.

Something like this is to be expected so this post is nothing more than a warning.

The Launcher crashes and the client itself just seems to hang.

I'll try reinstalling tonight to see if it makes any difference but currently if you want to try El Capitan on your main machine then be prepared to not play Eve.

At least someone does some testing for CCP
BTW: do they support 10.10 officially, by now?

Not that I have heard...
We haven't even got an update about the Mac client - and CIDER was sold off. . .

I love how they keep us in the loop. . . NOT!!!

Have you tried it on El Capitan using something like Crossover wine? In Yosemite I've found the client a bit snappier using this method but I still prefer the official client since it represents an investment in the OS X community by ccp and I don't want them to think they can rely on their customers to find their own emulation solution like they have done with the Linux community.

Can't let them off the hook, so to speak.

If Transgaming support ends could another porting team pickup the reigns since the common language is wine? The only other vendor that I can think of that I see associated with OS X ports is Feral. Fingers crossed in my pod right now.

If it's any consolation, it's not just us:

Just for right now, for anyone else who runs across this issue or reads this, please be aware that we have not yet fully tested the EVE Online client against Windows 10. Until we do, your experience with Windows 10 and EVE may or may not be satisfactory. We're working on getting to a known stable point with it, but until then, thanks for your patience.

Apparently you have to run EVE under an Administrator account for it to be able to write game data to your user folder. Roll

I installed El Capitan last night, and the first thing I did was try out Eve and I have no issue yet.

Uninstalling and reinstalling has actually worked.

I'm now back to playing with no issues.

About to setup a clone again to make sure. :-)

Feral do things slightly differently. They actually more often than not do a proper port not a wrap. This takes much longer but in the past has actually made some games run better on a Mac than on a PC.

If Feral did an actual port of Eve Online that would be awesome but it would also mean our client would be further behind and would not work due to feature variance.

I have a problem to run EVE in windowed mode in El Capitan :(
Full screen mode works fine.
But in windowed mode EVE move window down and I can see only half windows.
It is strange but I can't move window up. After I move client window up it jump down again :(

Running EVE as administrator does establish that the FPS issues certain people have been having are a permission problem, but it should not be necessary to do this in normal use. Asking the player to do so in that case was a diagnostic step intended to help identify the underlying problem.

Well using Public Beta 3 right now. Eve does not work out of the box yet. But a workaround works for me. Right click the eve.app in the programs folder -> show package content -> Contents -> Resources -> Click the EVE Online.app. This works for me only the client won't update.

Does anyone have an update on this? Does the client work with El Capitan yet?

Works full screen, but does not work windowed mode for me.

Game seems to be running (I can see the screen running under mission control), but I just can't bring it to the foreground.

I am using full release of El Capitan and Eve works ok (as good as it ever has on the Mac, thanks cap for ignoring us!) but on my multi monitor setup it doesn't work with graphics glitches and the half windows appearing.

I had some gameplay earlier on the mac screen native with the other 3 disconnected and it worked as per usual.

Interestingly if I boot my boot camp partition and run Eve under windows it works so much better!!

Can confirm, windowed mode doesn't work, only half the window shows and it won't let you move it

Hi all,

Yesterday i updated one of my mac's with eve on it to el captain.

Mac Pro Early 2008, 10 GB Ram 5780 GPU, 1 * 27 Inch Monitor.

No Problems with the Update and no Problems with eve. I can play eve in fullscreen and window mode. I also created a clone with clonemacker and can access 2 clients in window mode on my screen.

Eve runs with all the macs bugs like before.

As mac user you have to be happy if it is not becoming worser than before...

PS: i will connect another monitor to try a muitmonitor setup and will update my post.

Have fun

Edit:

I have installed a second gpu in my system and connected a second monitor. This config is useless, it is not possible to select the gpu, only the first on is used, you cannot move windows, etc.

Same Situation with 2 Monitors on 5780, you cannot move the windows and there is a lot of strange behaivior. it is also not possible to select the monitor for fullscreen.

Can you please submit a bug report for this?

https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/

Be sure to attach your launcher log, which you can get using the instructions here:

https://ccpcommunity.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202664145-Launcher-Log

We've had an ongoing issue with bug reports with attachments that have a .log extension (yeah I know!) that our web team is looking at, so if you have any troubles submitting such a bug report, just rename that .log file to have another ending. .txt works.

As far as correcting your individual problem, I would recommend also opening a support ticket so one of our technical GMs can look into whether configuration changes might allow you to play EVE:
