Change Security Status mechanics

Negative security status is shutting players out of areas of the game for no reason. Players should be able to fly anywhere in the galaxy they wish regardless of security status.

Security status in the capsuleer community should not illicit in any way an empire police response. Neutrals that acquire a temporary criminal or suspect flag do not have the cops after them. Why should capsuleers with a permanent criminal or suspect flag have the cops after them? It makes no sense, because it has to do with the capsuleer community.

Remove the artificial barrier that shuts capsuleers out of High Security space. The cops shouldn't care one way or another.

Perhaps instead you could simply restrict market activity and deployable placement for these individuals.

Any buying and selling for criminals and suspects in High Security space would have to be done through trade amongst individuals.

Faction warfare players have it even worse. Many acquire low security status, so, any attempt to fly through High Security space they have empire police and faction navy after them.

How is Sec Status shutting someone out of any area of space? Even with -10, players can fly anywhere they want and dock in any station they like.

If you are a known pirate, criminal, murderer, thief, burglar, robber, and you enter the jurisdiction of the Empires, it is only natural that they hunt you. All are equal before the law.

Just fly in highsec like you fly in lowsec and nullsec.

The only time I've seen a -10 in High Sec is in a pod. Why is that? It's my understanding that the cops are all knowing and so tough that's it's a sure death. Is this not so?

You are not a pirate, criminal, murderer, thief, burglar, robber, or any of the such except to the capsuleer community. The Empires do not involve themselves in any other capsuleer affairs that I know of except those. Why is that?

You prefer to being ganked by unknown neutral alts? At least with red and yellow you know to be careful around them.

Let me go in-game and fly a rookie ship to high sec and see first hand what happens. Perhaps my understanding is off.

Please learn game mechanics before coming to the forums to complain about them.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I have discovered that yes, the cops are in fact all knowing. They show up wherever you are. My Ibis was nearly one shotted at an extreme range. I do not view this as appropriate gameplay mechanic. It makes no sense.

That is actually the first time I have said that to anyone.

I submit to you that an Ibis is not a good test. As the person above said, "fly like you would fly in low sec or 0.0." A travel interceptor is a great way to get around. I do not recommend flying a freighter. Although the results are hilarious (I watched that happen a couple of times).

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I don't want to live there. I just feel that better mechanics can lead to more interesting gameplay potential. Take FW for instance. How can you mount a roleplay attack into enemy High Security space when npc cops will kill most of your people?

Then you are not looking in the right places. I have seen a -9.7 Tempest today, flying around just fine.

I myself am of Amarr origin and very well consider myself a member of the Amarr Empire. Police force retaliate against criminals that try to harm me. If you shoot me, my ship or my assets in High or Low security space, steal from my cans or wrecks or kill people of my corp, you are a criminal, murderer, thief, burglar, robber. The police thus acts against you same way as domestic police forces act against foreign criminals.

That must be a defect in your overview settings. I see suspects, criminals, bait kill-righters, pirates, people with -10 and -5 standings in my overview.

Out of curiosity: What are you even doing in FW? FW concerns the empires and you said that capsuleer business has nothing to do with the empires? And if you are in FW, why do you shoot neutrals first? Why don't you wait until they shoot or aggress so that you can shoot a criminal/suspect instead and do what the military does best against neutral parties: defend itself and not murder them.

That opens my eyes. My thoughts didn't go to how it could screw up the roleplay of players such as yourself. Those that don't view themselves as a separate entity. I wouldn't want to ruin that for you.

I'm only in FW because the corp I'm in is part of it. I'd rather not be, but they are my friends. I enjoy playing with them.

I'm going to have to find out how that Tempest was doing that without being destroyed. I admit, I haven't been in High Sec for a long time.

If you have active criminal timers, Concord is going to stomp you as soon as you enter space in highsec. If, however, you just have negative security status, you only have to deal with faction police, which is a lot less dangerous than Concord. Most highsec carebears are too scared of your flashy red icon to try to engage you.

This is definitely true. Even if they think they might want to engage you, they will be convinced it is a trap.

Ive always felt just the opposite that all the navies should pod you if they are willing to attack your ship, EVE is harsh but not in this case which seems odd to me.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.
