Unscheduled Downtime Extension – July 15, 2015

If the server didn't work as well, after the step 2, I have no further suggestions, since it can't just work fine one day, and stop working the second day, under the same, exact conditions. There must be a reason, there must be some kind of change that stops it from working.


You assume that, after 10 hours of investigation, they don't know what the problem is.

It could be a data issue rather than a code issue.

It could be that there are several facets to the problem and they have fixed some but not all of them.

It could be a wierd timing issue that's hard to reproduce in conditions other than the live server environment.

It could be a bug that's been there for years, but only shows up after the new things people spent the last 24h doing with the new sov.

Still, if you can think of any other basic IT practices that every CCP dev already knows, why not post them here as they will probably appreciate it.

I'm Canadian and I have just been learning about this thing called outdoors and museums.....both are very scary places filled with these gangly looking creatures that are loud and some even have smaller gangly things that are even louder. Very very scary, must get to back to warping around and going after tiny ships

Can someone explain to me why the Forums don't have Google's Translation API built into them yet? We are a hardcore multilingual community, why isn't CCP facilitating that?

Just to contribute more noise to an epic thread:

Thanks CCP. Today is actually my birthday. Because Eve is down, I managed to find the motivation to go shopping, renew my drivers license, engage in some private intimate happy time with the spouse, snag a pizza from the local super amazing pizza house, and get my car detailed.

When you guys manage to work this out I would love to see a blog/forum post with what went wrong.

you did the major update with no issues.

The next day you 'hotfix' some reported issues and all hell breaks out.

If I had to speculate the someone didn't pull the latest to there dev branch and pushed a bunch of old code to the hotfix, causing mayhem!

Good luck getting it sorted and ignore the haters!

P.S. you have saved me as I promised my gf i wouldn't play tonight and when i logged after work TQ was down :)

As you’re all aware, Tranquility is still offline after today’s scheduled daily downtime.

This is due to an issue that happened during a code deployment today while patching for a few fixes in EVE Online. The issue caused the cluster to fail to start up correctly, and as such, Tranquility is currently unavailable for play for both EVE and DUST.

Our operations and development team are working on this issue as we speak, and we’re hoping to have Tranquility back online for you guys as soon as possible.

Right now, we don’t have an ETA for when the cluster will be back online and accepting connections, but we’ll keep you updated in this thread.
