no.

once the time to deliver runs out, your customer gets a new button on his contract "fail contract" as long as he doesnt hit that button you can deliver the contract as usually.
maybe its a good idea to send the guy a mail explaining whats going on and that he should not press the button.

once he clicks the button the contract is failed, he gets your collateral payment and you can keep his stuff.

Clearly you don't understand what's actually done during the downtime each day. There's processes that run against TQ that cannot be done live. These include things like belt replenishing, NPC orders, cleaning up all the junk in space in each node, and other housekeeping tasks.

In speaking of downtime, I'm sure WoW is still in beta because it goes offline for several hours each week.


None of what you mentioned requires downtime, let alone daily.
In fact most of what you mention already spawns/de-spawns during the server being online!
Scripts can easily do all this in the background while the game is running!

As for WOW, I do not play it and yes, they too seem to have serious issues related to quality.
There are games that do NOT give this sort of bad user experience questionable game-play!

What it comes down to is service quality being below even software standards!
Much of it is fixable and can be done with little effort and a few things require a lot of effort.
Are we the customers not worth that effort?

Is it that hard to completely back up a cluster before making changes to the system?
